I test fitted my new H&S Downpipe last night and noticed that the end of the first bend in the downpipe was touching one of the oil pipes going to the oil cooler.

Has anyone else found this problem? I have a "slightly" larger turbo than most, a GT2871 0.86, but the turbo can't have moved the exhaust over by much.

Has anyone managed the bend the oil cooler pipes away from the downpipe?

I was also wondering about wraping the oil cooler pipes in heat wrap to protect them from the heat of the exhaust, anyone else done that?

Tipoboy said his downpipe was very close to his oil cooler pipes (plus his remote filter pipes) and he has heat wrapped them IIRC.

I saw that, but these are actually touching the down pipe. I will try to take a picture of it tonight.

I was also wondering if it might be possible to replace the oil cooler pipes with steel braided hoses.

Mine rubs against them too I just noticed it yesterday as I took my turbo off.

Give me a call later, it would be a good idea to pop round at the weekend and bring your pipes so we could bend them away from the down pipe. Would be much easier to test it on my car as it does not have the radiator and all the associated plumbing fitted yet.
