......if you were on the verge of getting your Coupe back, after 18 months away, restored to a better-than-new condition? Just wondered.

I'd be excited I've had mine for maybe 3weeks now and haven't driven or even heard it running properly yet (Hopefully by this weekend) but from the other comments this sounds like a different kettle of fish. I'm only new here so details please????

To be honest if I had the money to have 18months worth of work carried out to make my coop better than new I'm not sure I'd be driving a coop. Maybe i've just been disheartened by the fccuk up that sprayed my car. Though if I get the best possible outcome from the court case and get my car fully resprayed at his expense I'll be as excited as a minibus full of nuns on a day trip to lourdes.

Tom, nice warm dry lined garage ready and waiting Perhaps lots of people are jumping to conclusions about amounts of money spent when they don't know the details.....and in any case, I envisage tottering out to the Coupe on a sunny Sunday when I'm 75, so work it out on that basis and money ceases to be the overriding factor. And I knew Hedges were green, but......

Pah, all these spoil-sports on the forum! cappo, I'd be really excited!! Biggest dilemma would be where to go for my first drive - you've got to show it off somewhere!
It is hard to understand how a cemetery can raise burial rates and blame it on the cost of living

Haven't got any post-rebuild pics yet but they'll be up soon!
Suppose I'll have to sign up for JimO's Jamboree now!

OK, well one day if/when I get time, I'll try to do a story board on the work done. In the meantime, the car is painted, mopped, the interior has been replaced, the glass has been replaced, and it's rolling again, albeit not on it's own wheels as we don't want those marked while it's moving around. MOT next Tuesday, which will be done with a spare front end fitted to avoid ramp damage to lips, etc, followed by aircon regas, geometry setup, fit the final front end, and then odds & sods to finish off. Target is next weekend. In the meantime, here's a pic of the rear, which is fully finished. This was taken after it had been rolled outside for a wash, but not dried or polished, and on a dull day too. I *think* the quality of the work shines through..... Enjoy....

"To be honest if I had the money to have 18months worth of work carried out to make my coop better than new I'm not sure I'd be driving a coop"
Lol, it's a tricky one this, I think. It's all relative. I'm the worst person in the world for changing my mind about what car I want. When I got my Lexus, it was all I wanted and I was going to keep it forever, but 6 months in, all I could think was, I could've got a mint, modified Supra for the same money. But as long as my coop doesn't let me down (in any major way), I'll be keeping it a long time. It's different. Round my way, Preza's are ten a penny, fast yes, noisy and that, yes but not original. I see more 911's than Coops. And a car is just a car really. Unless you're really vain, would a £200,000 motor make you a better person? Nobody else would think so as they ran a key down the side. Maybe I'm getting too deep.
Enjoy your new motor, mate, when I have the time and the money (and a spare car...), I may do the same thing with mine. Who knows?

Very nice Mr Cappo, very nice indeed Now, unless I'm very much mistaken that is a classic Carlt paint job? (You can tell because he always leave that wee bit of overspray as his signature....... )
