Do the 16v na coupe's have a viscus coupling? If they don't as I hope could I buy a 16v na gearbox plus shafts and have the Quaife lsd fitted to it and then run this in my 16v turbo. What would the box/shafts handle power wise? Any help on this is greatly appreciated.
You could. Its not as strong but maybe its strong enough, ive run one turbocharged in a Tipo also without issue. The ratio's will also make for faster acceleration
You'll need a Coupe 16V or Tipo etc steering rack also. I would be prepared for a lot of minor differences that you will need to sort out too.
You have to take the box apart to fit the diff as it doesnt have a seperate housing like the turbo box. At the same time you could do the same cable conversion to the rod linkage box to take cable - see my 16v throttle bodies thread for a few details. Although if you geta 16v coupe rack (not tipo its too narrow) it will have the pivot for the gear linkage on it. You will also need the rear block intermediate drive shaft of the 16v to replace the visco set up. Note coupe cables are not the same as the alfa cables to convert the gear box if you go that route. I would be tempted first to check the diff in the turbo box with the 155 v6 diff - I think they are the same; maybe speak to quaife direct and sent them a turbo box diff if that possible for you.
