You left your laptop in the car shocked Sorry to hear about the theft but you are lucky they did not just put a brick through the window like they do around here frown

I believe you can buy a device that will detect any electrical/battery powered itmes in your car so even placing such things in the boot is a no good crazy

I guess it's very easy to preach.

But I can only say the most expensive item left in my cars are travel wipes/tissues.

It's intrigueing how they actually got in the car, without damage too.

smile

Perhaps it was to do with that post that was on here a few weeks ago where somebody's 1st post was to ask how to get into the car because he'd lost his keys (yeah right), somebody (rather stupdily) told them how to achieve this apparently.

did they? missed that one. sorry to here about your loss.

last time my car got broken in to, i was more upset about the glass they smashed than the bits the stole. (speakers that were not on show, took the hole shelf)
200 quid for the glass and all they got was 2 broken car speekers!)

lesson learnt every one. no valuables on show in the car, ever

I always park mine next to some BMW 316 compact with large speakers, subwoofers, lcd's and other things in it.

They would be crazy to steal my antique kenwood cdplayer and standard speakers...

In the glovebox I only keep my Nokia charger and two cheap screwdrivers.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Make backups of your data in the future! (AND don't keep your stuff in the car... ;))

yes that was my post thanks smile And if they dont use the method I suggested (which the AA use in full public view) then they will just use an alternative method. Like a brick or fishing the keys out of your front door. I didn't reply to a post of how to break into coupe's, my understanding was that they owned the car.

And the method of gaining entry is valid for all cars its not particular to the coupe. If you have a good alarm with sensors then it wouldn't have been an issue.

So I hold my hands up and apologise to posting on here, but if someone like myself knows how to break into your car without any damage then I find it hard to imagine that the info isn't available on the internet. And for info the method of entry I suggested can be found on other car forums and youtube.

Someone did that recently on the HSV/Monaro forum. Thing is, there ARE hidden means of accessing the car, but they're just that - hidden. But now, you can read all about them on an open forum.

I wasn't impressed, and said so.

The time my car was stolen, I could have sworn that the car was locked. Never did find the keys. Now I reckon I just left my keys in the boot lock and forgot to grab them back while I was staggering into the house with all my clobber.

Horrible to hear sick Do you lock the car with keys or with a 'blipper'? Surely the alarm would have gone off even if they did manage to get the locks open?
