Standard turbos dont seem to last long with a decat. Search on here for '+turbo +decat' and it should throw up some previous experiences. Upgraded bearing is needed for longer life.
apparently so i bought my decatted coupe with a supersprint and decat about 3 months ago and it seemed ok, but since has started smoking a bit. now i dunno if its the turbo or if its something else, but it is getting worse, just bought a cat from someone on here for MOT time. seems they dont like the lack of backpressure from having no cat or something like that
well i suppose if you get uprated bearings in your turbo, then fit the decat, it should be ok. i think i dunno what to do myself, might put the cat back on but if the turbos on its way then may as well get it reconned with better bearings and leave the car decatted dont know what difference there will be between decatted and normal.
You want a 360 degree thrust bearing and staggered oil seals then it should be fine with a decat (apparently).
The difference... well apart from being a lot louder, Mine is kind of boomy at around 3000 rpm which is a downside, if I put the cat on it sounds smooth and creamy, with the decat it's more of a deep warbly roar with a raspy edge to it
I got the Blueflame 2.75" full system by the way, and would recommend it to anyone.
you will definatley need stagger seals fitted wich offers a total seal reducing oil loss will cost £150 to have fitted or £280 for full rebuild inc 360 bearing thanks rob
