i want to buy a good exhaust system to my STD coop, im thinking to fit either, Miltek Cat-Back Exhaust or Supersprint exhaust Sys or even Blueflame sys, as well as Im considering a DE-cat with the system….

i need something to fit directly to my STD sys. Or at least easy to fit, so what do you recommend

what is the best in your opinion and plz advise f u have any others in mind.

I can personally recommend the Supersprint cat-back on an otherwise standard car, as I ran this for quite a while. The centre pipe is straight-through, getting rid of the standard centre box, giving a nice exhaust note and a slight improvement in breathing. They also produce a matching decat pipe, but everything is made from mild steel, so will not last as long as other options.

I believe that the Milltek system is basically the same design but made from stainless steel, so more resonant and longer lasting. They also do a race cat that is a straight swap for the standard one and frees up quite a few bhp, but it is rather expensive .

Don't know anything about the Blueflame myself, but there are plenty of people on here who seem to like them. The main problem is getting a cat fitted for MoT time, as they won't easily adapt to refitting the standard cat .

what is better, Stainless or mild steel, is it only the life time?? or there are other things>?

I've had my Supersprint for over a year but, to be honest, I don't use my car everyday, and it spends most of its life in a nice warm garage .

It is certainly an improvement over the standard system, but you probably need a race cat or decat to make a major difference (just be aware that a decat will almost certainly see your turbo seals failing a lot sooner than normal ). I have now done quite a few more engine mods on my car, including hybrid & 3" downpipe, and the Supersprint is still performing very nicely. I have no plans to change it in the forseeable future .

Stainless will certainly outlast mild steel by quite a margin ('lifetime' compared to '1-3 years'), but they also tend to be more 'boomy', particularly at motorway speeds .

The powerfiat system is pretty good, i have a full de-cat, it sounds great, its stainless to so comes with a warranty.

The Supersprint doesn't last more than 2-3 years as it is made of mild steel although it does sound nice. The Miltek is a fulll SS system that should last a lifetime but that said it sound svery similar to the Supersprint i.e. very subtle, and doesn't have any of the low down boom generated by the BlueFlame. If you only want to go cat back then the Miltek would be the system of choice especially as you can save £100 on this system from Powerstation.

I seem to recall Hanny telling me that the Milltek is basically a stainless version of the Supersprint, which would explain why it is similar in exhaust note .

Blueflame have been nothing but good to me. they borrowed my car for a few days and developed there turbo back system while they had it.

they also have a CV to be proud of, so workmanship and quality is guarrenteed.


they used on the coop a 73mm stainless pipe. get in contact with them, speak to Nigel (the owner) or Ian Birch (development manager) and ask them to give you the full spec

I have been running the BlueFlame for 9 months. It is a great system for modified cars due to the increased bore and the price is very competitive. That said, for a standard system replacement it wouldn't be my first choice as it is a little boomy at crusing rpm and is probably overkill in size i.e. may cause your turbo to smoke sooner due to less back pressure and may even lose you low down torque.

I found the catback wasnt too bad but i have still to do a long journey which i will be doing tomorrow. This will be, warrington => Bolton => Skelmersdale => Warrington => Featherstone => Conventry => Chingford so should prove testing enough for her

BlueFlame is a great fitting, well built system,but i have to say i HATE the drone ...I now find myself staying in gears longer/shorter or driving in 4th when i should be in 5th ,6th to stay out of the `drone zone` 2200-2900rpm.
I might even take it off if I can find another full 3" system ,that does not drone
