Is this car known on here and do you think the symptoms are right for a goosed turbo?

Looks like a knackered turbo to me, smoking from cold which clears up within 10 minutes is usually the turbo.

Could be a good buy but lack of aircon would bug me as my next coupe is hopefuly going to be a keeper.

If it gets too hot open the windows

No good if youre stuck in traffic which will happen more and more often I guess

Might not be the turbo, could be the valve stem seals

never ever heard or had valve stem seals seep oil.

Does the turbo symptoms seem right to you Gaz?

Have to say i'm very tempted with this one but it's too far way! If his listing is correct then it does sound like the turbo but like buying any car you really need to go and see it in the flesh before you take the plunge! If only it was a bit closer, Mr C

Kinda tempted myself however my whole budget would be shot. What is a rough price for getting turbo replaced and can it be done myself ? (not to bad with spanners)

Well if his word is as good as his ad then changing over the to turbo supplied won't take too long! If not then use a recon turbo couple £100, then bobs your uncle and all that jazz! Mr C

One of mine smoked when I got it checked out before I bought it. Took it back and told the guy I was buying it off it needed a new turbo, therefore couldn't buy and went to walk away. He knocked £1k off for that and a bit more for the bodywork, I bought the car and it never did it again .
