Wondering what was first year that the 16vt coupe had the 6 speed gearbox with viscodrive?

I am looking for a secondhand unit.

Thanks
Keith Walker

And ALL turbo coupes have a Visco drive, The visco drive is a separate unit and can be replaced independant;y of the gearbox.

Judging by this post you may have worked it out.

What's the plan Keith? You're in an unusual part of the world for a Fiat, we don't get many visitors from your neck of the woods \:\)

Hi Scooby,

I have quite an interesting story.

I have an old Lancia Scorpion. Better known in Europe as a Lancia MonteCarlo.

Anyway, a couple of years ago, I got purchased a FIAT Tipo 2.0 16v engine to install.

The Tipo was never sold in the USA, but guess what? Ferrari North America had an emissions testing facility in Detroit for a number of years.

For a while it was the best emissions facility that the Italians had, so every Alfa and FIAT engine underwent testing there as well.

So after testing was finished, the engines were supposed to be sent back. Lets just say a few 'slipped out the back door' when the facility closed!

So now I have a FIAT Tipo 2.0l 16v and need a transmission. It is the non turbo version of a FIAT Coupe 16vt or Lancia Intergrale.

I would prefer the 6 speed if it fits, but if not, the 5 speed with the viscodrive would be perfect!

I have dealt with Omicron Lancia in Norwich, and they have told me that they can package up the transmission if it is delivered, or they can have someone pick it up (but not take it out of the vehicle.).

HI Keith I know a lot about that version of the FL twin cam engine should you require any information.

I may have some questions about the sensors. I have the wiring diagrams, and the NOS wiring harnesses (purchased from Iberparts, that guy is good!).

The Weber Marelli Injection system never got over to the USA, so I don't know which sensors are which, besides the obvious ones like the throttle, crank sensors and so on...

Thanks
Keith
