Hi All I'm hoping one of the more informed may be able to help with this one. I've just started looking for a FMIC as everybody on this forum say's it's the way forward. However I've been offered both a std evo8 intercooler or a pace kit, both at very reasonable prices. Some people on the forum howeve say the pace unit is not very good?, Can someone expain the difference?. The pace comes as a kit the evo unit I'll have to mount and make up the pipework or is there a kit for this?. Cheers Tim

I think that the problem with the pace kit is that the inlet and outlet to it are on both on the same side and very close to each other, therefore the quickest route for the air is more or less straight out, meaning it doesnt get any cooler and has no benefit.
Whereas the EVO intercooler has inlet and outlet at opposite sides meaning the air has to go right through the intercooler, therefore cooling down and giving the benefits.
However, this could be a load of rubbish, im sure someone will confirm soon
