On 24th of July I went to my third RR session. This time with a new turbo . You can read about the installation here: It´s time for a new TURBO - Mitsubishi 19T Previous result with original TB2810: Crankshaft: 277hp at 5200 / 381 Nm at 4600 (281 lb/ft) (Original: 220hp at 5750 / 310 Nm at 2500) My mods so far: Mitsubishi TD04-19T Pro Alloy FMIC Gtec2 NGK BKUR 7ET Blueflame 2.75" from turbo and all the way to the bumper Motorsport 100 cells race cat Pro Alloy SIP with APEXi Cone filter Forge DV006 Malpassi FPR 1:1.2 Armval BCV11 set to 1.25 bar Petrol: 98 octane. Ambient temp: 25 degrees C Intake temp: 40 degrees C Here is the result: Crankshaft: 321hp at 6500 rpm / 388 Nm at 5600 rpm (286 lb/ft) Transmission losses: 36 hp / 38 Nm (28 lb/ft) AFR is between 11.8 - 12.6. At 6500 rpm it´s 12.6. I checked with the guy who runs the RR and he said that this value was okay. The figures above are circa figures. I will soon have all data from the RR session. I will check them and update if necessary. So what do you think guys?? Mitsubishi is pretty okay ? Big Graph: 19T graph picExplanation - Graph: fredrikfiat003 = Run 3 with EBV fredrikfiat004 = Run 4 with PRV Wheel HP and torque.

Looks like a nice result, especially for that boost level. I would have said 12.6 was a bit high, but I'm by no means an expert.

Looks good, around what you might expect from a GT28R with the same setup. Will be interesting to see the shape of the torque curve in comparison.

12.6 is a bit high that high in the rev range. below 12 would be better! nice figures though peak torque is quite late, when does this turbo come on boost?

I think that 12.6 is too lean at the top end - you want to be running in the 11's. Did the rolling road check the car for detonation or only for fuelling.

12.6 is too lean IMHO, although I doubt she's detting yet, I'd prefer mid to high 11's.

That is an awesome result Freddan, congratulations It is running very lean though. Try to get a print out with the AFR on so we can see if it is a progressive curve towards the redline. You may even get away with just a Walbro and Wiring mod to fix it if it is. Otherwise a remap is on the cards. It's a shame you didn't have it RR'd at standard as your car is making huge power for the mods... Unlike mine at the moment

Freddan - you are running that power on the standard fuel pump?

I think the 19T is almost the same size as the GT28RS (if you look at the compressor maps and compare them). A friend of mine, Alx, has a GT28RS. We use the same RR place and he got 320 hp. The specs are not identical but very close . I think it´s only the exhaust that is different. He has 3" exhaust, I have 2.75".

Freddan - you are running that power on the standard fuel pump? Yes I also thought it was a little bit lean. I will talk to him again, maybe I change the setting on the FPR. He also checked for detonation and there weren´t any.

why not get a Walbro fuel pump and wiring mod, much better solution than raising the fuel pressure.

Hi Fredrik, I tried to send you an email, but your seam to have a summer holiday . Nice results, although I would expect the torque to be higher and peak torque much earlier. I will send you two graphs of my friends Coupes (after you are back in work), the other with GT28R and the other with GT28RS (0.64). They both are using bleed valves. I think the curve of the GT28RS is quite close to yours, although I haven't seen your yet. - Jari -

Increasing the fuel pressure will not help you with this. So you think I should drop the FPR and add a Walbro fuel pump and wiring mod instead?

Have both Freddan! Anything that helps the fuelling system function better has got to be a good thing

I'm using a standard FPR, with a Walbro + wiring mod, and my fuelling is mid-high 11s at 314bhp, so I dont think you need an uprated FPR.

At the moment you are likely running lean as the pump can't supply the fuel, not because the chip is not trying to supply the fuel.
If the chip is up to the job then the pump and voltage mod should sort the fuelling....however I have always said that if you want a map that is 100% then you need to get the car mapped. IMO you should not run over 300bhp without a custom map, otherwise you end up costantly tweaking things and paying for numberous rolling road runs....etc....

Before the test run with the PRV, I also did three runs with the GM EBV, to set up the FPR, and I got lambda 0.79 = AFR 11.6 on the third run. But the ECU + EBV lowers the boost so I don´t see any power at the end. I managed 286 HP with the EBV. +9 HP compared to the TB2810. When I tested the TB2810 (at the second RR session) it was overfuelling badly, I got AFR 10.7, so I believe I could at least have 280 HP with better fuelling. I will soon post a graph so you Flea, and everybody else, can see the result

Hmmm, it's a little hard reading that graph as the scales don't have enough resolution, especially the fueling. Maybe this is better?: Bigger graph pic I am assuming the figures on the right are the values at 6500rpm where the vertical pink line shows on the graph?
Yes that is right.
