Been reading the guides for a while now and going to take a gander later.

Manifold, date and mileage of belt change, warped discs, radiator, exhaust and everything electrical!!

It looks ok, personally it wouldn't be my choice of colour combination. smile

It also looks like something odd has been going on with the exhaust at the back as it seems to stick out a bit far.

That might be just the angle of the photo though.

It really is impossible to say without looking...during my year long search for a coupe I read some glowing descriptions from sellers. Quotes like "Must be the best in country" and the like, only to find the biggest heaps of sh*t when I went to inspect them.

Take your time and dont get seduced...even the tattiest coop knows how to flirt with you as a buyer!!!!

Yes, I know I spotted it at the weekend - it has a surprisingly high number of bids in comparison to all the other Coupe's too.

Hmmmmm..........it was originally £2600 on Pistoneads, it didn't reach the reserve on Ebay first time 'round and now re-listed with a buy it now of £1750.

Here goes......

Cambelt done at 55k - unspecified date, clutch changed by a friend in the trade, new exhaust, new brakes, unspecified tyres "with plenty left", original turbo, original rad, 7 months MoT, Tax out end Aug, sce history by "local garages" - I decided to give it a miss even though it was offered at £1650 as I felt the potential for it costing a mint to get upto standard was there. Owner seemed desparate to sell, which was a little worrying.

I'd arther pay more and get one fully documented.

I think you did the right thing. You should be able to get a well sorted car for that amount, as prices are a bit down at the moment.
I am pretty sure that needed a cambelt in 6,000 miles as well. After the first change it is recommended to change the belt every 36,000 miles.

All coupe have the potential to cost money though. I have spent £1500 on mine getting it up to scratch, but I can still think of other things that need to be done to make it a minter.

Cheers!

You confirmed what I already thought.

It'll be interesting if it comes up for sale again soon, which I think it will.
