I just had a couple of minor niggling issues with the Coupe which I wanted Paul to check out for me, so the Coupe went down to Motormech on Saturday to get them sorted. The missus wanted to come as well, and seeing as though the bull ring can sometimes get quite tedious when you're wandering round on your own I agreed to take her with me. Total cost of work done to the car? Zero. Paul - the star that he is - just said he'd only had to do a few minor things and it was all sorted, so there was no charge. I thought it only fair to give him a tenner to get himself a few beers, but either way - the car cost me nothing. Total cost of the trip? Err.. £1,700 Clothes from Next.. stuff from HMV (admittedly £50 of which was mine ) .. kids toys.. perfume.. all because "well you're spending money on your car so I'm having a few things". And then fccuk me if we didn't have to stop in Dreams on the way home and buy a new bed Just remember.. if the missus ever says she'll come with you when you take your car in, just say NO

My missus wanted to come with me to Powerfiat a while back, once I told her it was in Essex she said - "thats where Lakeside is isn't it ?", needless to say I paid more and went to L&M instead, realising it would be cheaper in the long run.....

Am i the only bloke who has to worry about how much the wife spends on the coupe and not on shoes ect, Mrs L would much prefer a set of new brakes to a new wardrobe.

Mrs L would much prefer a set of new brakes to a new wardrobe. Me too Couldn't justify spending £130 on things like shoes/clothes, but will quite happily spend it on things like a Barnacle widget £50 on a boost gauge from MABR - not a problem - instant decision. £50 on clothes, etc? - Ooohh, well don't think I really need any new ones, so I won't bother

I learnt this lesson last year when I went for a belt change and service. Paul, the sadist that he is, recommended the BullRing to Mrs MABR when she asked where to spend the waiting time. The only worry / panic came when we came to pay and realised that Paul didn't accept "flexible friends".
