polished & ported cylinder head, with 3-angle valve grind (inlets only)
matched exhaust ports (head to manifold)

Why Pauter?

Also recommend you change the balancer shaft bearing and oil seal - easy when the lump is out of the car.

Probably worth doing the water pump and all the tensioners.

Also, change the O ring seal for the oil vapour recirculation cannister on the back of the block

Okay, the new year is aproaching and thought long andhard about this and have decieded to get my engine rebuilt yipee

Bearing in mind that im pretty confident in doing most jobs on the coupe,

i 'm not compendent enough to remove and refit the engine frown

so im asking if its fesiable to drive the coupe somewhere, have the engine removed, rebuilt and fitted.

And where confused is kieth at auto intergrale still messing with coupes confused

Paul at Motormech has now built several forged engines - probably the closest for you

Keith would do it, Auto Integrale are off M4 J12 so an easy run down the M4 for you, and a nice trip back running it in. You can call him on 0118 9710 281

Trev - I thought Keith had stopped doing Coupes (otherwise I would have mentioned him as an alternative to Paul at Motormech)

its probably not his main focus but I can't imaging him turning down work, especially something "meaty" like an engine rebuild

As Nigel mentioned, you should definitely get head work done whilst it's apart. Without it you will be missing a lot of the potential of your forged internals.

The engine stabiliser bush is worth changing off the car as you can get a new one pressed in.

Make sure you budget for a full gasket and seal set - it probably adds up to well over £300 with a belt set and water pump. Some people would fit a new oil pump because it is an absolute pig to change in situ.

If that is your parts list you would be much better off buying a block and then building it up rather than taking the car off the road.

cam seals aren't included in the gasket/seal kit, nor are the oil pump housing gaskets!

that's right - there is a seal on the oilpump and there is a gasket between the block and the oil pump (neoprene affair). Some places do price up the top end gasket set to include the cam seals but they don't physically come with the top end kit. I think they're about £35 for the pair.
Also of course you'll need to look at what to do with your flywheel (lightening or go for an aftermarket affair) and clutch

Uprated clutch as well mine cost 480 pounds just for the clutch. Seriously Benny I thought your car had low ish mileage and if it doesn't smoke and knothing is wrong with it why spend 4grand on the engine. Mine has just cost me over 3 grand but was forced into it. Now I have the possibility of being made redundant so was not the best 3 and a half grand I have spent and that was with no labour costs because I did it myself, that was just bits.
So in all I think you should think about it long and hard about it....
