Anyone know any issues with things like MOTs?
Anyone got any pics of small protrusions (no stan!) on Coops. Trying to force a purchase of Pro Race 2's in ET15, which may stick out 10mm or so...

So did I. I could always put other old wheels on to pass the MOT though so that not a problem.
What about rozzers? Especially rozzers who frequent cruises or rozzers who are plain old cnuts?

If MK is anything like it used to be when I used to frequent in the days of my old Bravo they will more than likely do you for them, more than likely to be the VOSA lot now. I got "done" for having an abarth badge and slogan on my numberplate (instead of a uk or eu badge) and fined £30 (IIRC) for the priveledge. Weird that I'd driven with it like that for 2 years previous with no hassle from the Cambs police Dan

When I was a young Foolish 18 year old I ran my Mini Cooper without the wheel arch embellishers. I was parked up in town and attracted the attention of an over keen beat officer. I ended up with a producer, a trip to court and a fine for having a vehicle that was non compliant with the road traffic act.
So my foolish "WOW that looks neat" moment cost me a day off work, A fine, having my Dad on my case oh and my insurance going up.
So yes go for it, it will look cool!!!
Gone Audi mad!

The bonnet is essentially the arch on a coupe though isn't it? Flared bonnet extentions perhaps

I've always wondered what a Coop would look like with flared racing style wide body instead of slashes...

Wheels that stick out further than the bodywork - you trying to make your coupe look like a corsa?

I've always wondered what a Coop would look like with flared racing style wide body instead of slashes... Me too. The rears would be "easier" to flare out than the front arches, purely because of the bonnet arrangement being part of the front arch. That said, I've seen wide-arch conversions on other cars, and it can be a bit hit and miss. There was a wide-arch conversion available for the Uno (Horman Kit), which looked very nice from most angles. But then the Uno was always looked very narrow as standard. But on the Coupe, it's already quite wide, so maybe it would look too wide if the arches were stretched...

i think it goes that when viewed from above you shouldn't see any tread of the tyre sticking out past the bodywork.

Just have them flush in a touring car style, trim the bodywork to accommodate this. If you have them protruding you'll have to add bump stops etc to stop the tyres taking out your wings and the ride will be awful! It will also look like a Corsa! Oh, and flush wheels should be dark!

i think it goes that when viewed from above you shouldn't see any tread of the tyre sticking out past the bodywork. Well I wondered this. There is actually a good 10-20mm for room to expand your tyre width/widen wheelbase if viewed from the top of the car and it still won't stick out - on 205 tyre 7x17 wheels.
