Just been to Tesco to fill up, while standing in the queue i was asked is that a 5 speed or 6 speed ? So i told the guy it's a 5 speed, then another guy the other side of me said that when he was at Prodrive they had Colin McRae's 20vt in for a little tuning to been done. He said he couldn't remember what work had been done but it did go like sh!t off a stick & that Colin used it as his daily driver. I thought as the rest of the queue was listening in.

Yeah i saw that brilliant. You wouldn't have all the scoobys on the road if it wasn't for Colin and his balls out driving, he was a driving GOD.

Funny really that Richard Burns doesn't get the same respect and he's English!

burns was a rally legend too, no doubt..a great driver...but mcrae had that 'villeneuve' streak...if in doubt, flat out.....you wouldnt see colin, or gilles, nursing a car home for points..it was shit or bust every time out...i think that attitude and otherworldy car control endeared tham to their fans...

I see why people love colin, don't get me wrong i think he was brill, but i have more respect for Burns, he had to try a lot harder than Colin, Burns was not a natrual driver and for that i think he deserves respect, i think there are to many sheep out thier, Colin was a scooby Burns a coupe, if you see what i mean. May both rest in peace and i am thankful i got to see both of them drive.

Eddie Irvine had a Coop too, and a few other racing drivers that I forget. Maybe Colin Mcrae got bored of driving all those Scoobs and fancied something a bit faster for the road?
