I have some time off work in a couple of weeks time and decided i would use some of this time to replace the leaky 'o'ring on my drive shaft. Having searched the forum and eper i found the correct part numbers for the bits i needed. I then phoned my local Fiat dealership (Evans Halshaw@Horsforth, Leeds) at about 4pm thursday afternoon and ordered the parts needed. To my astonishment, at 9am the next morning!! they rang me saying they had the parts ready for me to collect! I thought that was superb

With a performance like that being made public it's highly probable they'll lose the franchise! \:D

Sometimes the dealers can surprise you with fast turnarounds on ordered parts but it really depends if the parts are in this country already.

The trick is definitely to give them the part numbers though rather than rely on them trying to find them! \:D

I've had the same experience with Desira in Diss. A surprising number of parts seem to be on the shelf and the parts guy is very helpful. I still get the majority of my bits from AA but I'm not as Fiatphobic as I was.

As an aside it is worth noting, as Mrs Veggy often does, that in 240,000 kilometres our MX5 never needed any parts to speak of, so parts buying is a new experience whoever it's from .

I was about to say the same place has got me the wrong parts a couple of times.

Always really helpful and friendly though aspecially when they realise what car it is.

I've recently been ordering loads of parts from my local dealer, as my car's been in for spraying. They've been totally useful, no complaints at all.

(They're in St Albans, Herts).

Cheers, Hedge

my local supplier is great, its at extreme cars in dudley that sell evo,s and random supercars, but seem to have an alfa/fiat spares desk inside.Very honest and usually only takes a day or two to get the parts in.

No officially a fiat delaer as such
