Hi,

Just thought I'd post some feedback from a live mapping session with FC perfomance.
My car runs:
EVO6 FMIC, hybrid turbo with 0.8 pre load actuator, SIP, and a Perrin EBC (boost controller) which is controlled by the OE ECU. I was running a gtec 2.

Before the re-map I was always happy with the mid range power, but off boost it was always a bit flat and had slow pickup - especially off boost. It would also didn't deliver that much as you got above 5.5 - 6000 rpm.

Went and met up with FC performance and discussed what I was after, and they have certainly delivered more than I expected! The car now feels much more responsive off boost. It really doesn't feel like it has any flat spots now, and as it comes on boost, the power delivery is much more progresive. The power tail off near the red line is reduced too. Only down side I can see is that my clutch, that was just starting to show signs of slip before the live mapping, is now slipping a lot more, as there is loads more power in the mid range frown but when it does bite, the car feels hugley quicker smile

Definitly the best mod I have had done on my car - much more power, and much more drivable. When I get new clutch fitted, i'll wack it on a rolling road and get some figures out.

Many thanks for you work guys - very impressive!

Thanks Paddy, interesting day mapping your car smile I will be honest and say when I first drove the car it didn't feel much faster than a standard chipped coupe. Nothing wrong with this if that's how you want the car to drive but given Paddy's modifications and that he is running a GTi-R hybrid turbo, well the idea behind these upgrades is to get a little more ooomph! Here are your fueling graphs from the day for reference. The first run was as the car came i.e. nothing changed.

Fueling Run 1

This was peaking at 1.1bar (overboost to 1.2bar) but would quickly drop off giving around 0.7bar at redline. Like your Surrey graph, the fueling was a little lean in the midrange but started to go rich as the boost tailed off.

Paddy mentioned the clutch was slipping a little before he came down but he didn't have time to get it replaced. It proved a little more tricky when we increased the boost as the clutch didn't always like it too much. Boost is now set at 1.3bar peak (overboost to 1.4bar) which tails of to around 1.1bar in 3rd gear upwards. This has obviously produced a significant increase in torque which hasn't helped the clutch. Unfortunately it now slips a little more when hitting peak boost frown That said, once this has passed it does grip again (on a flat road wink ) and it does pull a lot harder!

Fueling @ 1.3bar

The fueling is now great and the turbo spools quickly, you can see from the graph the clutch slip as it hits peak boost! The boost in first and second gear is not quite as aggressive so as to maintain traction.

The great thing about Paddy's setup is that the ecu controls the boost and timing, this means both can be retarded as a safety measure should it be needed i.e. inlet temps, engine knocking etc smile Look forward to seeing the results once you have a new clutch!

Great! So how did you set up 1.3bar then?

I recognize that 1.1bar with 1.2bar overboost from my car..
I now use GM ebv, GT28R and Novitec chip.
