It's possible a body shop me plate up the original aperture on the Coupe, where the factory sunroof sits. I got a body shop to do this to my Uno Turbo I owned years ago. I was sick and tired of the factory roof leaking, which was leading to all manner of corrosion issues. So a bodyshop I was using at the time said they could remove the old sunroof altogether, and weld in a sheet plate, then smooth and respray the roof, so the roof looked like a standard single sheet roof, without a sunroof. I sourced an interior roof lining from an Uno Turbo, that hadn't had the factory optional sunroof fitted, and replaced mine with it. Job done! No more leaks, and quieter too. Not sure if that's the route for you, but may be worth considering?

Hi circolo, Thanks for the post. I had thought about doing something along those lines but I'd ideally like to keep the sunroof. I suppose I was thinking of replacing the glass, spraying the chosen material and hey presto. However I'm not sure how easy and achievable this type of idea would be?? Would the roof look odd if it wasn't exactly in line with the new painted insert? (Not sure if the glass is slightly curved) How easy would it be to remove the glass and replace it with something of the EXACT same size? Would the end result be prone to leaking? So many questions!

As I don't have a sunroof, I'm not sure how the glass is actually connected to the sunroof mechanism. On most factory fittments, it's usually screwed through the glass to the mechanism, via bolts, which are usually covered with a cap to prevent corrosion. If it's similar on the Coupe, (ie you have screws/bolts running through four corners of the glass on the sunroof). Then there's no reason why that can't be replaced with sheet metal, bolted in the same way as the glass. Downside would be the metal is much thinner than the glass, so it will inevitably be sunken into the rood when normally closed. I guess the another alternative would be to fit a larger metal sunroof that supersedes the original one.
