It's that time of year again!

and my quote has come in from Tesco...it's gone up to a grand that strikes me as a little over the odds so I'm going to shop around before commiting myself.

I have emailed Greenlight for a quote. Can I have other's quotes please, similar to me, which is:

*24 years old
*6 years no claims
*driving for 7 years
*Never been involved in any crash
*3 points speeding in a 30 area
*Driving a stage one tuned '97 20VT

Your postcode will have a big bearing, including whether car is garaged, whether you have business use etc

Somewhere or other you can check your postcode to see what risk area it is

Also try Noel Dazely and Adrian Flux

Try confused.com, although I always find the admiral group to be the best for my coop - I was with elephant last year, switched to admiral this year. More than are good for my alfa sportwagon but would not insure my coop as they say they will not do more than group 18, although I am sure I have seen other coop owners mention them!

You can't change your postcode although this may be an issue - Worth an online check to see if it makes a big difference, my FK11 postcode is low risk I think. My cousin lived in a high risk area years ago but spent a lot of time out my way - Insured his car in my poscode and saved a fortune!

The admiral group are not keen on mods - Elephant wouldn't cover my n/a with a strut brace

Admiral have covered mine with non standard (Momo) alloys and a stainless steel exhaust, and for about £150 cheaper than Lloydstsb wanted to renew. But then I was around when God was a boy.

We must all do our part for the planet.
I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

Maybe it's perfomance and suspension mods they don't like...may be wrong and it was just me

I would be surprised if they were cheaper than the specialists for a tuned 20vt...

Elephant insure me with exhaust, chip, air filter (and its a plus so has a strut brace!) but will not entertain the idea of a different dump valve! How stupid is that.

I checked and LL19 7* is one of the lowest crime ratings there is for insurance. The car is sat on a drive at night. I will never go with Admiral again, pathetic company. And as for a quote with confused, that can only be described as comical. Remember watching the results rolling in on the pc, went somethign like

Elephant....Referred
Cornhill....Referred
Eagle star direct....Referred

etc, etc, every one except Corinthian that came up with the competitive quote of... 3 grand. I mean, WTF?!

I do get frustrated when I read chaps of 23 on here, living in a high crime rated area, with 4 years no claims, getting quotes of £700 or so.
And here I am, never been involved in any smash in my whole life, 6 years NCB, living in a low crime area, getting £1K+ quotes. What the hell are insurers playing at? Ah glad I got that off my chest

Try Liverpool Victoria. Have found them very good and mod friendly. They insure to replace mods and the customer service is just great.
I'm changing to greenlight for the agreed policy, as I now have to many mods for LV to be good value.

That's really good skint.

Noel Dazely quoted me £720 fully comp with £400 excess However they want £250 first payment which I can't afford so...

End result is Greenlight, £757 fully comp with £300 excess.

A saving of £230 on tesco and every last mod covered
