Probably one for Bockers! Anyone any experience of these?

I don't know how you set and/or change the frequency, nor what happens if you're in an area where there's a transmission on the same frequency? Does the "power", or proximity, of the hardwired modulator overcome a radio transmission?

I need something for the Monaro; the standard Blaupunkt HU sounds OK but is cack in terms of functionality. Trouble is, it's a 2 ohm unit so changing it means changing all the speakers, and I'm not sure what you do about the (standard) sub and amp as well.

There's a link on PH to dismantle the HU and hard-wire in a lead to play an MP3 player but it looks a touch scary!

Might go for one of these and give it a go.

These things tend to be a mixed bunch. This one gets quite good reviews and at £14 may be worth a punt.

Thanks John. The one I listed is actually hard-wired into the aerial cable, so I wondered if there were any benefits/pitfalls in that method?

Well like you I would assume it would be better as it should cut down interference, just how easy is it to get to the back of the monaro unit and is there an easy route for the wires to go to where the MP3 player will be stored. If so I would go for your find (sorry did not notice your link first time as in the alternative FCCUk colour scheme it blends in with normal text a bit too much).

Just seen Autoexpress did a review of these things. Your unit is listsed but looks a bit different. Again inconclusive and most reviews are swayed to ipod specific solutions \:mad\:
