The 16VT rack has great feel and better weight, if you do go for a change however, you'll need to retain the steering arm TRE's as they are different on both models.

Has anyone ever done this swap? The 20vt has an 11.4m turning circle while the 16vt has 10.3m so I'm guessing there is a space constraint in the wheel arch caused by the bigger engine.
Don't know for sure but its a lot of work to go to to discover it lets the wheels rub. Even if not they must have had a reason for making the turning circle so crap. Perhaps it would take the visco unit into limited slip territory.
