A sensitive subject discussing numbers I know but I've had a quote for a bit of paint and body work on the coupe.

I wondered if other had spent similar ammounts, my quote being around £1500.

My full respray cost £2500, but I think that was quite high and if spending my own money (insurance job) would have been looking for about £1500.

I spent just over a grand, which also included a new boot and getting rid of a large dent in the rear end woohoo

That was Solo Italia. It looks pretty good, no overspray, drips, orange peel etc. It's not quite factory perfect, but impressive none-the-less. smile

I'm gonna get a complete respray in the new year, looking to spend around £1300-1500.

That’s a serious point, if you are able to find a few of you needing and committing to a full respray I would imagine a hefty discount.

i personally feel they are way over priced in todays market.... and their level of skill varies. i ve used a mobile guy for small bits in the past and it never ceases to amaze me how skillful they are in getting a perfect lasting match...

I had a 200 quid quote for back of boot, but mobile man will do it for 60 ....
in the end i had nothing to lose by having a go myself and 99% polished out ...which tells a story in itself..

Anyone ever used 'Chips Away' ? there's one right near me, so am thinking of popping in and getting them to look a a few 'supermarket' dinks & scratches, and a bubbling rear light cluster

I believe Mark (Elder81) on here has a friend with a Chips Away franchise. He's in Bourne End, so might be able to help out, Rich.

I used Chips Away for some bonnet chips on a previous car. the job was cr*p and looked worse as time went on. ok if you want to tart up your car to sell it, but a waste of money for a keeper. Just IMHO.

£2k for a complete respray to put right a horribly botched paint job after the car was damaged in a hailstorm.

It took six weeks, but the prep was amazing. Several Coupe owners have also used the same bodyshop, including James Perks (jap) whose car went on to win its class in the Auto Italia concours at Stanford Hall this year.

Super quality, great workmanship and real pride in the job.

For anyone thats interested, the bodyshop is called EuroEast, near Lichfield in Staffordshire. Number is 01543 676903. John is the proprietor and paint wizard - tell him you're from the Coupe forum and he'll do a great deal and a great job.
