well well went a shop to tesco came out an well to be honest i went mental, some twat had hit my car so first thing was checking the cars bumber that was beside me,no was'nt him. went into see security see if they had it on camera, well they dont record the car park and dont take any responsibility for what happens in it,the security came out an had a look an could'nt apologise enough for whagt had happened.

so the front side of my bonnet area is all scuffed.

what i would do to find out who it was \:mad\:

Yu, Tesco never have the cameras on their car parks for that exact reason so they never get involved... Asda also wimp out of providing cameras and I too had the misfortune of some c@@t hitting my bumper with what must have been a towing eye... An someone has keyed my car too... I think if anyone hits my car and tries to drive off and I see it, I'll put them face first into the tarmac for leaving an accident...

got to admit, i have sceen some one do it before. i tried to confront them but they just drove off. i took the plate details down and wated for the car owner to return, gave him all my details and said i would be a witness

never herd anything about it after?

i can only hope some one will do the same to me. i had some one revese in to me in a asda carpark, but i didnt care about the car.....i was still anoyed that people can do that however

if there is no cctv, no witness, then your nackerd. call teh police, report criminal damage and leving the sceen of a accedent. get a crime number and call your insurance

its the only thing you can do

sorry mate, i know exactly how you feel, you probably just want to screem at this point

Yup, same happened me. Came out of a Tesco to find THIS done to the side of my car. \:mad\:

Security said the cameras weren't pointing that way etc etc etc....

It's really frustrating. I couldn't do this to somebody elses car and leg it. I'd feel too guilty.

Do a bit of CSI;

if it left a scuff of paint take it to a professional pianter/sprayer... my brother does it and he reckons it's quite easy to narrow down the make of a car from a flake of paint (although the sprint blue on my coupe is also used on some other makes). Although if it turns out to be a dark blue fiesta you may have quite a misson on your hands.

Just think of us who work there - we have to risk this every time

They do provide free RAC cover if you happen to break down in one of their car parks, but i reckon most coop owners make sure they are fully covered anyway - they should do!

someone hit mine in a carpark it was a small ding but he had crossed the line and was close to my coupe and was still there.
i left my contact number and wrote a note saying ring me i work in insurance and id go through his insurance company with his reg if he didnt contact me (you need more than a reg) he rang me and gave me a ton job done.
got a paintless dent expert to get evry ding out for £60

Zonta im afraid your one of the many who have the same bad luck in britains crowded car parks and roads with so many careless people around with crap cars.

i have no shame in this, i quite oftern park in the child/kids parking bay. if i cant get one of them, ill probably go some were else

i would never park in a disabled car park though. before any one starts, i have fccked legs and it pains me to walk to far most of the time

its just a + that it lets me open my door more and gives me a load of clearance from other cars

I often do this, and once one of the 'car park' attendants stopped me and said "excuse me sir, if you don't have kids you cant park there" at which point I showed him the dent in my door id got a few weeks earlier, and I just told him to clamp me if he didn't like it, politely of course, he just smiled and walked off !!

I prefer the "park as far away from the entrance as possible" option as I imagine that anybody else who goes to the trouble of parking as far away is thinking the same.
The only problem with this option is when the trolleys (like in my local Tesco ) aren`t fitted with the £1 coin locks,so when the shoppers have emptied them some can`t be arsed to take them back to the trolley parks and they are left abandoned which is rather hazardous in windy conditions \:mad\: .

Also allows other peoples car doors to be tw@tted by mothers trying to get their kids in the back of the car, because they have no mother/toddler parking spaces to allow them to open their door fully

and there we have the can of worms....

i agree with you theresa.... i have a 2 door car for a reason, wider doors so i can get my legs in and out when there bad. same reason i park in them spaces

maybe this isn't a problem with so much were we all park, but the puniy car parking spaces were all forced to park in?

Can of worms or not, I'd think like this even if I was a male and am not posting this sort of response just because I'm female.

If you need the room and you are that bad, then get a disabled badge and park in a disabled space, not a mother and baby space - they are there for a reason, not because you don't want your car hit.

I don't want my car hit either, but I also don't park in mother and baby spaces, just like I wouldn't park in a disabled parking space.

Nobody is forced to park in a puny space either. You have a choice. Shop in a different supermarket/park further away/shop later on at night or early morning when it's not as busy, etc, etc.

I've always thought a lot of any car I've had and always make sure I park it well away from others if possible.

What annoys me the most, is when I have to make that sort of effort to avoid the car being damaged and some t0sser come and parks right next to you, even though there's 200 odd other available spaces.

Regardless, I think it's wrong to park in a mother and baby/disabled parking area, unless you have a genuine reason, such as being disabled or have young kids with you.

Hey, I dont think your opinions should be any more of any less valid due to you being a woman!

you have a opinion, so do i \:D

i have checked about the orange badge, i cant get it, i have good mobility 40-50% of the time, there are no procedures for people that can move about most of the time, and then cant.....

your hole nobody forces me to use a carpark isnt valid here, most companys still to the minimum legal requirement. you will find in supermakets there the bare minimum they can get away with

when i can, i will park the otherside of the car park away from every one else, when i cant i park were i can close to the building, there are two spots, desabled, and family. ill chose family

i could lie and say im a good boy and i park in the places im supposed to, but im fed up of being persecuted for not having a problem thats there 100 % of the time

i do what keeps me happy and safe, and quite frankly sod every one else

NSFW!!

here are my nees to show im really not taking the piss (this was about 4 months ago)

Why do you choose the family one?

Why not use the disabled parking areas?

because its actually illegal to park in a disabled spot, were as thats not the case with a child and mum spot (or so i believe) i dont have any kind of predigest against familys!

there is a clear defoniton with disabled, you have to have a orange badge

family places there is no stipulation and no clear cut defonition and nothing can be inforsed

Ditto ... even more so now that I'm the mug stuck in a standard space, trying to get my disabled wife out of the car, usually into a wheelchair, and my 11 month son into a buggy from a standard space, if I can't park with my wifes 'blue' badge ) orange ones phased out in 2000 ), or in a mother / child spot, I have to park in the road whilst getting my passengers out, inconveniencing other road users .. which is 'always' my fault according to all passers by... but you keep parking in these slots you selfish &^%*(&^s ( not aimed at you Samsite, I just know from previous threads people do it )

Most people don't think twice, unless put into that situation.

Apply again Samsite, a genuine case will always go through successfully.. ask your gp / specialist to do a letter or something.

You'll soon discover yourself, how many people think it's ok to use a disabled slot.. and how few there are. I've written to every supermarket I use within that last 6 months, they all claim to be within the 16% guideline !

Enforcement wise .. well I wouldn't park anywhere unless I'm allowed / authorized to on what is actually private land \:\) ( best case it'll be a disgruntled Mother who had to juggle a small baby from a car ), but I do know for a fact a lot of supermarkets are now looking at hiring private parking companies around here \:s

The looks you get sticking a Coop in a disabled space! Even if you are a blue badge holder - mine is for my daughter.

There are no laws about using any space in the supermarket car park. Its private land, so the only rules are those that the supermarket imposes, and those that society imposes, like having consideration for others with problems you dont share. Its hard to appreciate how difficult it is to get a child seat in and out of a Coop unless you do it, especially if you can't swing the door open. This is why I usually take my other car.

@Sam, I think I agree with Fellie. I was surprised to get a blue badge for my little girl, but it is offered, so I'm not likely to refuse it. There is a knack to filling the form in, though. My Dad used to have a blue badge for MS, which is progressive / regressive, so he was OK some of the time when he first got it.

Totally agree with you T.

I have 3 kids and a bloody great Fiat Ulysee (Electric sliding doors so they don't hit any other car when opened by my children) and it pi$$es me off when kn@bs park in the Mother and Baby spaces \:mad\:

No excuse, they are just lazy fcukers.

Lets hope one day those idiots are forced to park in a normal space and some fool in a big Galaxy parks next to you. Be a shame to get a lovely dent in yr mint coupe because some idiot without children has parked in the Mother and Baby spaces \:D

I have 3 kids

i agree and would only ever use these pre-allocated spaces when i have the kids with me - really, this is just to ensure my kids don't walk across the carpark which doesn't appear to cater for pedestrians.... \:mad\:

i do, however, have sympathy for sam with his conditions - there are many people with blue badges who are not as bad as sam, so i try and judge a case on it's merits where possible. having said that, i'm very surprised sam hasn't got a blue badge... \:o

i filled in the forms once, and it was like war and peace!

i got rejected, mainly in part as they dont understand the condition/problem
and mainly because i didn't get on with my gp, and it was him who was asked for the information

i do NOT park in blue (used to be called orange) badge holder places

what pees me off is looking at how decrepid you have to be to qualify for the blue badge, i call in to question your ability to drive...

there are days i have sat on my tod because i just havent been able to walk to the toilet let allone drive a car in safetey, yet we have people with mobility issues, and reading the form, i.e cant walk up stares, more than 20 yards ect who if they are on the higher mobility rate get given cars!

i will be applying for a badge again, and this time i will appeal when the decision gets overturned.

not saying im the exception, and that im above the rules. i know what i do is wrong, i know there are a lot of mums and dads out there that get peed off when are there car parking spaces are taken by people who care more about there cars than they do for the other peoples children

i know because its exactly how i would feel. i new that i would inspire a debate when i posted what i did. point im trying to make is maybe before you go and key that bravo, punch the owner in the face and steel his shopping. there may be a reason other than protecting his car for his pressense in your beloved child space
he may have tried everything in his power to go though correct channels and get the relevant badges but be turned away by a system thats supposed to help him

do you know what i see a lot on this forum, generalization, some people on here are quick to tar every one with the same bruch. one well put well spoken post and you will see every ones opinions shift in that direction.
the sooner people start to think about situations and take each case/situation on its own merits is the day i can die a peaceful man

i will send of my forms, i will write a letter to my MP ill do everything i have to do again to go though the correct channels. if that doesnt work....ill see you in your child bay. ill be the one with the yellow bravo with a limp in my step

Sam

Receiving higher rate mobility does not mean you get a 'free' car .. It means you surrender your mobility allowance to ensure you have a suitable vehicle \:\) ( sounds like another thing you should be applying for )
The car we have been 'given' for instance, will cost us over £7000 for the 3 year period. Of which a wholesome £200 is returned if the vehicle is in a saleable condition at the end.

The forms are like war and peace, but if you have a genuine case, you will get a blue badge. If you need a hand with any aspect of them Sam, gimme a shout, I'm more than happy to help. You have to give the worst case scenario, as soon as they see a hint of 'some days, I do ok', your done for \:\)

The tar brush syndrome exists on all forums Sam .. Ive posted here before about such a thing \:D
