We may have had this thread before, but new year, new thread Mine would have to be after I had recent bought my coop in 2006 and it I had just flown back from Germany after a weekend of good food and drink with mates in july I had to get from Stanstead airport to South Woodham Ferrers to drop one of my mates off. It was midnight the weather was warm, it was a clear night visibility was good and between where we needed to to go and where we started were lovely fast de-restricted country roads with sleepy villages where you would slow down...then as soon as you hit the national speed sign, blast up to speed again! a few nice hair pins and a nice duel carriageway to finish off probably about 40 miles in total journey distance. It was that "getting to know stage" of the coop, and one which convinced me it was the car for me! How about you, what is your most memorable standout fun drive. Austin

Mine was when I first picked up the car with my Dad. He was following me on the way back and was rather amazed at the pace at which the car took off. It was a great feeling having wanted one for so long - especially with the dump between gears - that sound will never grow old.
Coupe now sold!

<cliché> Every trip in the Coupé is memorable </cliché> Seriously though I think the best for me has to be the tunnel run we did as part of a midlands meet a few months back

most memorable had to be the 30 - 40 mile trip home the day i picked the coop up. nothing interesting, nothing foreign, nothing out of the ordinary, just the feeling of driving a car i absolutely loved in the knowledge it was all mine...i was grinning the whole way home

My most memorable trip was when me and the GF drove down to Weymouth.
Just the other side of Salibury the throttle cable snapped on a dual carriageway.
Luckily I managed to bodge the 2 broken ends together with fishing line.

Thanks Ned Yes that was a brilliant weekend following on from a week in a gite a village near Blois with my wife and grandson. Empty roads, great scenery, excellent company and a 27 coupe convoy from Chateau Chambord to a chocolate factory. What it's all about.
16VT and X1/9 1500 + e208 Peugeot
We must all do our part for the planet. I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using. I even unplugged my own.

Back up from Le Mans last year. The first sunshine of the weekend, all day to get from Le Mans back up to the ferry. French A roads (no Flics) and a few good mates in their toys.

Nowhere special, just at home.
Middle of summer, windows down, music on, sparkling paintwork, new exhaust, putting my foot down and listening to the noise as i took in the great day.

Mine was in a warm summer evening last year, after I had FINALLY done everything that I wanted to do to the Coupe and it was running perfectly. Going over Woodhead pass in Derbyshire just as the sun was on the horizon, amazing smooth road stretching out in front, breathtaking scenery, not a single other car in sight, I'll never forget that drive.

Think I'm with BelfastJohn on this one, picked it up and it was motorway all the way home so no B-road bashing but just the excitement of knowing how much it was going to be.....
And it still is, I could say the drive to work and back every day is just as good cos I still love it. Hoping to make it to some meets this year, and hope to count those as memorable, but up to now I could say the most memorable drive is usually the last time I drove it anywhere.
