Couple of years back, I comfortably ( literally, leather armchairs ) kept up with a civic type R that my mate owned from new .. in a 528 ( Auto, 160k on the clock )

So hopefully that was a driver thing and not a picture of how competent the C-T-R is on an A road. Soul-less little fizzbox if ever there was one .

Not quite. A limited number of 1.6 earlier variants were sold here as homolgation specials They are also technically referred to as GTRs though wear no badges. I know because I had one. It had full bash plates underneath. I chipped mine put water injection in, K and n filter, hybrid turbo, 3" stainless steel exhaust. It had a private plate G44 MMA- and I blew the head apart. It then got nicked. was fun while it lasted!

disagree about the soulless thing..i love the banshee scream of that vtec as it comes on cam, and the cars almost nervous, pointy handling on back roads makes it a hoot.....
