Hey, can anyone suggest a few types of plug. I recently changed the ones fitted by Motormech for a set of NGK Iridium ix which were £28.00, to no performance gain which they promised. Plus I'm thinking of putting a chip in and would be most grateful as to advice for cold plugs.

NGK B8 EGV are the plugs of choice for those running an evo chip Although these caused some running issues for me.

I now use standard plugs NGK BUR6ET

I agree B8EGV all the way but maybe the iridiums you have are fine too, what heat rating are they?

Of course you won't see any power gains with just the plugs. You need a matching chip the ups the boost.

i say ngk6, you dont need 7's until your running 260ish bhp.. well for the 20vt anyway.

In the guff that came with the iridiums it talked of .7 secs quicker from 20-70 over "normal" plugs. Anyway, thanks for the advice, the Forum is proving a real life saver.
By the way Dink your legend precedes you, I do have a chip but how much for a 16v turbo one?
