Sorry to see this. Let's hope there is a silver lining and you can get an excellent replacement. As others have said, you're not hurt which is the main thing. So it's a "Not yet, thank you" to these: And a "Yes please!" to all these :

These kind of 'travellers' p**s me off, I know, how about none of us insure or tax our cars then we cant be responsible either ! Really really annoys me this ... if the law says nothing can be done because they are travellers....then their should be a similar law for those that are screwed over \:mad\:

Right been out and had a look this morning in the light. Its not good \:s
I cant get under it because my backs hurting so i dont want to push it but a friend shoved his head under and safe to say what he saw wasent nice

Ok heres more photos

Right first thing to say os all the gaps on my car were perfect. As the pictures show, now they are all out, the windscreen is cracked from im guessing the bending in the chassis. One picture shows the footwell has actually seperated from the sill and been pushed up and into the cabin. The engine has been moved considerably forwards and is now against the radiator.

3 Photos of the roof show creasing by the B pillar but its hard to see because shes so shiny \:\(

Well yeh...shes gone and will never see the road again.

At least the Police are going to attempt to do something about a crime involving this Caravan Utilising Nomadic Traveller. I remember years ago there was a site in my area that the Police wouldnt dare even go into!

She was gorgeoussssssssssssssssssssssss
Love the way the LE seats felt and some people dont like the variety of noises that come from that induction kit...i loved every single one.

Just done loads of work for the MOT booked for this friday aswell and had a package arrive yesterday for the remaining parts from AA, manifold ready to fit..rear suspension and hand brake cables.

If they have the registration and can track it down easy and it is not taxed then they should just inpound and crush the van, thats what all the adverts on tv say to untaxed vehicles isn't it?
Hope you get sorted bye the way

That really sucks mate, i hope you can get it repaired but would imagine that you'd never feel the same about it afterwards, really hope you get something sorted. Tom

Really sorry to see your coop got totalled by some mindless tw*t. Glad that you are okay and I hope your back-pain subsides (amazing that the airbag popped though!)

I hope that the Police are able to track the driver down and that they are charged with driving without due care and leaving the scene, and that you get a bite at their insurance, if indeed they have it.

I have to say though, I'm pretty dismayed by the kangaroo court on the forum. Leaving a scene is a crime, but being a traveller isn't (although in practice it is essentially criminalised). This owner's lack of insurance, MOT and tax went from presumed to definite in the space of a dozen posts - I wouldn't fancy my chances with a coop-owners jury. Also, a vehicle is not registered to 'an area' it is registered to a person, who the police can quite reasonably presume was driving unless they are able to prove otherwise. Yes, finding them is another issue if they are no fixed abode.

I don't want to hijack the post about your poor Coop, or to downplay the seriousness of the accident and the crime of leaving the scene. I am just mindful of the herd mentality, and that if we replaced 'traveller' with any other minority term, 'black' or 'gay' say, then we end up sounding like fascists. From some of the posts here it would be more reasonable to stigmatise 'coop drivers' and what 'they' are like.

Before ya'll get frothed up: No, I am not Swampy, I don't have dreads, or a dog on a string, or like juggling or work on a fair-ground etc, etc...
