Up until June 2007 I had two cars both with 10+ NCB. At the time they were both underwritten by the Post Office.
I received a company car in June 07 so i sold one car and cancelled 1 insurance. They issued me with a NCB letter.
I still insure my current car with Post office.
It used to be that your unused NCB certificate was only valid for up to 2 years. If this is still the case how can I make sure that it does not expire in May?
Would it be possible to ask the PO to use the other Cert on renewal?
What if a buy a moped for £25 and insure that 3rd party?
It has taken a long time to get 2 full NCB and I am reluctant to lose one?
Any (legal) advice on how to keep the unused one intact would be welcome.

i believe this is still the case, my mum managed to loose her NCB a few years ago because of this
the moped idea wont work as insurance company like to keep motorbike insurance separate. when i insured the rs125 they wouldn't entertain the idea of accepting my NCB....but this might just be them
when i had 3 years NCB on my bike they wouldn't move that accross on to the car i wanted to insure.....

Direct Line have offered, in the past, to let me transfer my bike NCB to a car policy, but I don't know if they still do.
If you're going down the moped route then try somebody who insures bikes and cars, they'll probably be more open to the idea. I'd have a word with H&R insurance and Carole Nash and see what they'll do.
Dear monos, a secret truth.
