Soon to be fitting brand new bilstein all round on my 20VT + with second hand eibach springs and 18" azevs.

Whilst im at it is there anything on the cheap side of price that is worth replacing or looking at that is going to help with handling or comfort?

Thanks.

New front wishbones, check top mounts.

Then get the alignment checked, and changed depending on how you want the car to handle.

£93 will be for both front arms and for OE manufacturer parts.

IMO fitting non-OE parts is a false economy.

The prices at AA are (+VAT):
FRONT LOWER ARMS OE FIAT £48.95

FRONT ANTI ROLL BAR LINKS £7.95

TRACK ROD END 20VT A/M £21.95

TRACK ROD END 20VT OE FIAT £34.95

Technics

I have a Plus also and purchased a set of 18" AZEV's last summer which have been sat in the garage awaiting a refurb (which will get done someday). I am also in the process of going for Billy's & Eibach's.

I would be interested to know how the set up feels, any issues encountered, such as rubbing tyres etc

Cheers wink

Hopefully have them on in a few weeks max, cant wait, if I remember ill let you know and post a pic up too.
From the research ive done I dont think there will be any rubbing antwhere, and I hope not either.
I heard someone on here say not long ago, you can count the stones you drive over... crazy

But think how good its going to look and handle? wink

Just had eibach springs fitted by Rog at PowerItalia yesterday and they have transformed the handling, I didn't think just springs would make such a difference (now saving up for the Bilsteins!)

Technics. A fair bit. If you're putting 18" wheels on it, keep it at the same height and just use a set of bilsteins.

With your evo FMIC, lowering it might be a bad idea.

Kenno - I know that bloody pipe at the front to the FMIC is a right pain.
But I dont want the stiffness of the bilsteins, I just want it to sit down nicely on the wheels.
Finished getting everything I need now, 18" wheels, bilsteins and eibachs all getting fitted on monday. woohoo
Bodywork is just about finished, big ding out of drivers side door, key scratch out of the passenger side door and rear wing, lips glued back on and resprayed whole bumper. yum

I just hope I can live with the wheels and suspension......

Ill put some pics up in a couple of weeks, providing good weather.

technics - will you be keeping your Plus alloys, or are you going to sell these once you've fitted the Azevs?

Stiffness of bilsteins ?

You've got that all wrong, the springs will make it harsh, the billys will make it a better ride by controlling the springs better than the standard dampers ever can.

Sorry I mean the stiffness of the Eibachs!

I dont want the Eibachs for stiffness, I want the Eibachs for the look, so my car sits nicely on the alloys. (arch gap)
My mistake. rolleyes

It will actually ride better with the combination of the Eibachs and Billys than just the Eibachs, the standard dampers aren't quite up to the job so it actually makes it feel a bit more crashy and harsh.

Definately a harder ride although not uncomfortable, although I'm on standard rims
