Hi All,

I have just taken my car for a wash at Tescos. I left the keys with the guys while did my shopping. When I came out they were fussing around my car as the alarm was going off. I thought they may have either, unlocked the car with turning the alarm of, or pressed the wrong button on the fob which makes the alarm sound. I tried to turn the alarm off...but to no avail. I got my wife to bring the red key....no joy. Just had the indignity of driving the car home with the alarm and hazards on. Looked in the owners manual but cannot stop it.

The car will not drive with the red key in - but will drive with the blue.

Please can somebody help me?

Oliver

I know on some models there is an overide switch for the alarm.
On the ones ive seen, its located under the rubber cover that goes over the intercooler. You will of course need the correct key for it.

The red key has absolutely nothing to do with the alarm.

Are you sure your keyfob is working?

To disable the *siren* you need the small key, looks a bit like a filing cabinet key, which you insert, as Phil says, in the unit under the bonnet at the front left hand side or there may be a switch in the glovebox.

Thanks for your response and sorry I posted in the wrong section.

Problem solved. There is a slider switch on my fob which I presumed was to open it to put batteries in. In desperation I changed switch position and hey presto - solved.

Thanks again for your help.

Oliver
