ok now i have been thinking of getting a turbo timer for my coop. i have had one on other turbo cars and find them a little bit of a pain and as i don't have a cat 1 alarm not sure i trust it.
what do you guys think or should i contuine just taking it very easy for the last 5 mins home and letting it idle for a minute even though its pain?

Take it easy for the last 5 mins. Turbo timers are quite hard to wire up, due to the nature of the key / code box. It can be done, but think it's done in conjunction of an after market car alarm

ok i will do. i am not really keen on turbo timers but i don't like waiting with the car to cool it down.
when i get a cat 1 i might get a built in one but i once had a cliford 600 and it was so hard to use and big pile of poo so i don't want a difficult alarm again.

Fit a roller-bearing turbo - MUCH more robust when the engine is turned off

Very few Coupes have turbo timers fitted - its far easier just to cruise for the last couple of miles, then leave it tickiing over for thirty seconds before you turn the key

if i had the money to go the whole hog and get the 400bhp i want now then id buy the a decent turbo but for now i think just crusing is the best idea. im not happy about leaving the car running without a cat 1 and tracker.

I didn't mean leave it *alone* ticking over for thirty seconds rolleyes - I meant sit in it for thirty seconds after you park up, then turn it off.

Well, I want to install Turbo Timer anyway.
It is "Super Mini Turbo Timer" "Super Mini Turbo Timer"

Still I found some tricks to be solved as the installation manual is very poor. What wires to connect where in Coupe which has the start button and only one position on the key?

Physical isntalltion was very easy to install inside to Glove box roof.

Super Mini Timer side (says in manual):

1. Red = Power +12V
2. Yellow = IG (Key on) +12V
3. Blue = ACC or IG2 +12V
4. Black = Ground
Brown = Hand Brake Switch ( If you do not want to user handbrake switch, connect the Brown wire to Black wire )

Coupe side to connect timer to Inginition wires:

1. Red(Timer) to Red(Coupe) wire for live +12V ... ok!
2. Yellow(Timer) To Orange(Coupe) wire (When key turned to it's only position Orange wire will give +12V) ? ... OK ?
3. Blue(Timer) to what wire on Coupe side as there is only one position on the Key as I have start button originally

Or switch the wires between 2 & 3 ?

Isn't the ACC (accessory?)in "normal cars" without start button Key position 1

And key postiion 2 in the engine run position.

Yes, but sometimes I just press pedal harder at the last 1/2 mile, when you are in a hurry and also want to jump off the car also... not just sitting there & wait for cooling, if you in a hurry... just press the turbo timer on and leave car running.

It is good to engine also I think smile

(Audi engineers has developed this even further)

1. Red(Timer) to Red(Coupe)
2. Yellow(Timer) To Orange(Coupe)
3. Blue(Timer) To Orange(Coupe)

I'll come back later with results engine also running as my car is still non starter, but could see how the timer seem to work.

I forgot to reply results.

Running very nicely and the mini turbo timer does not take almost any space from glove box.

I recommend also to wire the hand brake swith to turbo timer, especially if you are going to use auto mode on turbo timer. So the car won't jump after taking the car key. wink
