Hi all,

Was supposed to be borrowing the other half's car but a cock up in plans has meant I'm in work in the Coupe today. I'm supposed to be going to buy a new road bike later this afternoon.

It's a standard size modern road bike (54 frame I think) with quick release wheels front & rear. So, will I be able to fit it in the car easily? No passengers so I can lie the front seat flat if needed. Boot has only the usual Coupé junk, oil; small tool kit; jump leads; broken CD cases and old maps, so room in there for the wheels possibly ?

Anyone done this - I'm pretty new the world of modern push bikes and haven't got a clue if it would fit.

Thanks

It'll go in. Wheels off and frame wedged infront of the back seats.

As Nobby says, I transport mine regularly like this. Have it upside down in the back seat. Get one of these. That will avoid crainring marks on the roof as you are getting it in and out laugh

Yeah I take my wheels off and put a few quilt covers on the back seat to protect them. Usually take my bike seat and seat post out as well (it's quick release).

I rest my forks on the floor behind the passenger seat and the frame more or less sits across the rear seats. The handle bars just fit between the passenger door and seat wink

Mine fitted upside down on the back seats, both wheels off and in the boot

As Bockers said, just be careful as there's not much room and it would be far too easy to end up with chain marks on the roof!

Thanks all

"Job's a good 'un" as they say.
Wheels in boot, frame upside down behind seats. Old rag over chain. Sorted
