I'm almost sure that it fits the coop.

I'm almost sure that some mate here's running one of those in his coop. (Jimo maybe?).

What I'm not sure is:

- If it fits, is it a straight bolt on or does it need some kind of mod?

- From what Dedra? It's likely that the diameter differs from model to model...

- What is the diameter of that ARB?

Any thoughts about this will be very appreciated since I'm wondering what it's best. Eibach kit for 400 pounds or a Dedra's front with Whiteline rear's for about 250!

I have the Dedra front ARB

It fits straight on, but requires the exhaust heatshield to be trimmed - you'll see exactly why when you look at the Dedra ARB next to the Coupe item

Don't know what the diameter is - just know its fatter than the Coupe ARB

FWIW, I recommend you go for the stiffest rear ARB if you're also upgrading the front - I still get some understeer on occasion, which could be reduced with a thicker rear ARB

It's from the Dedra Integrale, I have one fitted to my coupe too. I also have the whiteline 22mm rear bar fitted also. A nigel rightly state's you'll need to modified the exhaust heatshield.

Cheers Tim

Thanks for the info guys,

So I'm worried about the heatshield because it's there to prevent heat from reaching to other parts.

Does the trimming have to be a major one, or a couple of millimeters? Don't you have any photo of it when you installed yours?

I assume that it doesn't make ground clearance any worse than the original one?

Nigel. About rear's. Some mate's say that too thick ARB makes the ride twitchy? Going for the 24mm doesn't make the car too oversteerer when lifting off? Do you have 22mm rear's? If yes, did Dedra's front and 22mm rear reduced understeer anyway?

The heatshield has to be cut back by at least a couple of inches, possibly more

Ground clearance isn't affected

I can't remember what thickness my rear ARB is - I picked it up secondhand (its a Novitec)

I found that the car was more susceptible to lift-off oversteer on the standard ARBs - with the uprated rear, the on-power understeer was dramatically reduced and lift-off oversteer just disappeared - it certainly made the car turn in much harder - in fact it felt a lot like a RWD

I can still invoke understeer or oversteer, but it has to be seriously provoked to do it

Out of all the handling mods I've done, the rear ARB was the most satisfying and gave the greatest single improvement

And the exhaust heat doesn't affect anything?

When the car has been standing after a run, I notice it gets a bit warm inside, but nothing excessive

TBH, I think the heatshield is where the cat goes (the cat gets VERY hot), so if you're cat-less, it will be less of a problem

IIRC the Eibach front is 26mm so I doubt Dedra's ARB being ticker than that

No idea, sorry, and I can't be bothered grovelling on the cold concrete to get a vernier caliper on it
