Very jealous Mine is standard and does not feel fast to me, however anyone who is a passenger tells me its really fast Just a case of being used to it I guess!
It is hard to understand how a cemetery can raise burial rates and blame it on the cost of living

You must have heard one with an aftermarket exhaust then! The E60 M5 I drove sounded a bit rough if I'm being honest, and no it wasn't faulty in any way! Apparently that's the norm, and I wasn't overly impressed with the soundtrack. It was a great car to drive though; effortlessly quick, thought in all honesty it never felt as fast as it was actually travelling (if that makes sense). Peanuthead, did your uncle seriously swap an M5 for a 4200 on the grounds he thought the M5 was too slow?! You can't mean an E60 surely, I know the 4200 is a fairly rapid car but there's no way it would live with the M5!

Mine still feels fast although since I've only had it a few days I'm still getting used to it. I took my mate out in it and when I put my foot down in second, all I heard from him was a string of swearwords so I think it passed the test.

he did indeed but he doesn't have a standard 4200gt he ha sa grandsport wich has more power but i think the main gripe wasn't so much with power although he did say it wasn't as fast has he would have liked but the handling and in his words "felt like a old boat!" so not good.

It's slow to me and I want more but a friend was screaming my name to slow down when I booted the 2nd and 3rd gears recently so I get more smiles scaring other's rather than myself.

then into a 500bhp coupe, Really? - what happened to "project 400"? - is that what project managers call "scope-creep"?

When i bought mine, when it was standard the turbo spun up and pushed me into my seat i enjoyed it, im used to it now even though its an extra 30 bhp it still doesnt seem as fast untill you drive another car that is supposed to be quick ish, when i borrowed my dads mk3 golf gti i thought it was broken it was that slow, and my mate said he wished his car felt like mine and he has my old supercharged vr6 but its a bit poorly.

My 16v N/A is slower than my Alfa But sounds great Although when i go out in DanDan's sometimes it does amaze me how quick it is... though i am used to his driving now and we've been driving about in my coop alot more lately which is strange for him to let me drive (Not a bad driver) Yesterday he was following me and we went over a roundabout onto a dual carriage way.. I was flooring it only to hear a roar of a 20VT come flying past I won't tell him... but i am secretly jealous!

When I got my coop first I thought it was bloody fast. Maybe I'm used to it but I'm now convinced my coupe is leaking boost, has a dodgy AFM or the PRV is set to 0.8!! I think it's paranoia. however, I dropped it in this evening for a full service and health check and borrowed my dad's 1.6 Primera in the meantime. Geez...... now THAT CAR has no power at all!!! Can't wait to get the coop back

a few weeks ago i was thinking the same, is there something a bit wrong with it?about 90% as fast as it was? then i had a passatt estate diesel courtesy car... got the coupe back, and it feels like iv sent it away and theyve given it 50 bhp. feels realy fast again. must just have gotten used to it. most people when they get in and i drive away, the first word they say is "fccuk", ha ha. as someone said before tho, some days cars feel slower, and some days they feel faster, weird.

It is all down to what you're used to. My NA is slow in comparison to a 20vt, however there are times when it feels quick (although I'm talking 1st/2nd gear).

I tend to only go up to 4000rpm in each gear and it is plenty quick enough. When I put my foot right down it feels really quick, you can be a complete holigan in these cars.

when i borrowed my dads mk3 golf gti i thought it was broken it was that slow, I did that when I jumped in a 106 and when it started up I gave a puzzled face to a friend and gave it a little gas and it wasn't moving, I thought it was broken untill I felt the motion and it was slow.

i think the coop feels fast but what it lacks for me is sort of un nerving brute feeling. feels a bit to safe but on the otherhand a bit unstable to. you know when you boot it it won't snake down the road or scramble in a hedge and normally just goes well but not that quick in 4th and 5th. handling again you know it won't likely kick the back end out to far although mine does a bit sometimes. or i don't feel like it will understeer in to a hedge but it also has to much bodyroll and not enough feel but loads of grip. so in answer it feels quite quick but i still think driving pleasure could be improved.

well kinda actully lol. the fact it doesn't keep you on your toes and feels a little less hardcore does make it slightly less fun to drive. problem is sometimes it does feel like it could crash but thats because of its rolly polly antics and not the fact its a beast and you have to harness the power lol

thats how i would describe it :-) i only have a stage one coop and standard suspension and uprated discs and pads so its not the meanest coupe out there. i am sure if i went in nigels/flea's or johns's car i would feel slightly different.
