Hi, I'm thinking of changing the exhaust as the one I've got is a bit too loud. The one I've got now is a powerflow. Any recommendations for any stainless ones that are fairly quiet?
Cheers

A standard mild steel Timax cat-back can be sourced/fitted for ~£180.

A Milltek exhaust is very quiet when cruising and sounds great when giving it some beans. I think they are pretty expensive though but are a quality exhaust.

I have a Miltek exhaust its got a nice deep but quiet noise to it. But it will get loud as you go up to high throttle. My cars still at poweritalia but when it comes back i could record the sound i get for you?

I do have a K&N air filter too though so that will give mine a slightly different sound.

Yeah powerflow are booming and chavy in my opinion.

I would highly recommend Longlife. See my post under "A Recommendation" in the coupe related chat section.

You will have to be very careful what exhaust you put on it. With those mods it needs to breath and a restrictive exhaust could have a negative effect (i remember when it had the standard exhaust on and when the powerflow was fitted it ran lots better) .
I would recommend going back to Britannia tyres in derby (where it was fitted) and ask them how much to put another small box in (shouldn't take them long and cheaper then another full system).
Or what you could do it put the cat back on, that would make it alot quieter (but would lose some power)

Ash

Miltek are very good, the older ones as on Stuart81's coupe use 3 boxes on them so make a lovely sound. I think the later Milteks only use 2 boxes so I can't comment on thier sound.

Cheers for the replies, I don't want a standard exhaust on it and the last thing I want to do is lose any power so the cat's staying off. I'm happy with it being a bit louder than standard, just that I'm finding it a bit too loud on motorway cruises.
Thanks then ash and paul, I'll give britannia a call and go and have a chat with them.
smile
