Well my 16VT handled far better than my 20VT (standard for standard!) Must be down to the age/condition of the suspension.

Coopless!

not sure if its the fact the 16vt has a different steering rack and doesn't feel quite as sharpe maybe but i agree that the 16vt should handle slightly better

My 16VT handled better then my current 20VT too.

My 20VT's dampers are a bit worn though.

I don't buy into the arguement about the 20VT being much heavier up front though. Overall the cars weigh about the same, some figures even suggest the 20VT is lighter.

The 16VT is i think heavier but the balance is better on the 16VT.

some of the 16vt's weigh 1250.
the 20vt is 1310 or something?

One last comment i will make its gonna be a hard task to find a nice modded 16vt, as hardly ever do they come up for sale.
So im sure you will end up with the 20vt.

I've just got back into Coupe ownership after some 7 years - 20VT LE now but had an early 16V previously but was an n/a. The 20VT engine is an absolute pearl......Super smooth and creamy and feels like a lot bigger unit. Love it. It feels like it could rev forever - in fact recall driving MCMikes LE and kept hitting the limiter as I did not realise how hard I was pushing it - just sounded so at ease.....

Having said that I must give a 'big up' to the n/a 16V unit.
OK does not go as well without a Turbo but its a real drivers engine and still sounds great without the Turbo robbing some of the engine note.

I've owned 2 16vts and must admit absolutely loved them and agree with the comments on here about the "eventful" overtaking when the car suddenly comes on boost.

Today I'm going to have my first ever drive of a 20vt and if I like it I'm going to be buying it.

I'll let you know how I feel about both on my return but I'm certain I want to try a 20vt now due to the fact I've owned 2 16s.
