I work for a company with 75 employees - 15 are getting the chop by the end of this month.

Most of my friends and everyone I talk to knows someone who has been made/is redundant.

This may threaten the ownership dream - Unemployment benefit won't cover the coupe's thirst for cash cry

I wonder how many of the coupe owners were under the threat or have been made redundant recently and are considering down sizing? cry

Poll?

its effecting every one at the moment however, im lucky as we have 2 cars, and hers is very good on fuel

There's an option missing: KNOW you're about to be made redundant.

I was made "potentially redundant" last November, to the great shock of many of my collegues and even greater shock to me and wifey (I'd like to think I was fairly valuable in the Company I work for)

I was subjected to the difficult task of apppealing against the process an explaining to them why I felt they should keep me.

When I explained all the duties I performed, they looked kinda shocked and said "we didn't know you did all that!"

I respectfully reminded them that all they had to do was ask, rather than make me redundant.

They hastily "reconsidered" and let me keep my job. I SO wanted to tell them to stuff it up their corporate ar$es, but unfortunately, my bank won't take smug satisfaction in liue of mortgage payments

If I HAD been made redundant, I would have definitely kept the Coupe. In its present state of tune, it would have been difficult to sell and even more difficult to replace when I got another job.

I'm a freelance engineer and work is very thin on the ground at the moment, but I get paid a pretty decent rate when I am working. So far I've worked 9 weeks this year and I'm OK financially, but if I had to go another month say without work, things wouldn't look so good! I'll hibernate the coop rather than sell it though, I'm lucky enough to have a Discovery as my work and standby hack!

Grim times for sure, this time last year I was planning my holiday, not this year!

I was made redundant late last year. With my redundancy I got my 20VT! A week later I got a job. Now I dont have a coop due to the accident but looking for another one now ... that is cheaper though as I can't afford another minter! Still have my new job though!

I am still working, but my company has made some people redundant.

Luckily I am the only person in the company that knows how to do my job.

Not been made redundant but in the last 12 months ive earned half what i did the year before...which has made rather a dent. As is quite obviously noticed in some of my posts. Next to no overtime and no overseas trips frown
Still count myself lucky and keeping fingers crossed

Just voted.

I'm now unemployed after my job was made redundant but I'll be keeping the coupe as I'm still paying for it! Plus the values are so low its not worth selling at the moment as I would still need a car.

Was made redundant just after i picked the coupe up for a project, to restore from bottom upwards. Took me 6 months to get back into work.

Although im safe where i am, im on a lower wage. This restoration has been dragged out some what longer than i really needed.

Now im in the situation where i got a coupe thats worth nothing, and needs a lot doing which im rather struggling with, but i have no choice.
