My LE is back on the road yipee

I guess some of you may remember my Coupe ill.... Maybe terminal? post from a few weeks back?

Well the car was shipped over to Paul in Motormech last week and he gave it a much needed heart transplant. The old engine was binned and I got a nice 60k engine from another LE put in.

I was up at 4am yesterday to make the 6.25 flight to Birmingham (was sitting beside Johnny Herbert no less!!!). Reached Motormech by 8.00am, picked up the car and headed for Holyhead. Mmmmm... the engine is sweet and noticeably quieter than the last one (before the big ends went obviously!).

I had a lovely drive home with the sun shining, the shades on. Turned on the cd player and "Sweet Emotion" by Aerosmith came on at random. It was as if the player knew I was in a happy driving mood cool The next track was "Slow Ride" too!

Completed by 200 mile drive and was back home by 7pm yesterday evening.

You know, driving a 98 Coupe is soooo much nicer than driving a 98 VW Polo laugh

Thanks again to Paul & Co. at Motormech for the work they did. Top work and such good value. Will definately travel to Birmingham to get the big jobs done.

I'm off for another spin, because I can. 1 Month is far too long to be without a Fiat Coupe tongue

Great news, you think one month is long rolleyes

After all the trouble i have been getting, think motormech will be where my coupe will be going. Not just for the specialist assurance, but the piece of mind they will give you.

great result daithi - i had the privelige of seeing this car arrive, then following my cambelt failure ( rolleyes ) seeing paul and the boys working on the engine.

safe hands, good service, excellent prices - now that's what i call a happy ending....... cool

Thanks y'all wink

It's great to have the car back.

Proccy, unfortunately, whilst great care was taken getting the car off the transporter, the same can't be said about putting it on the transporter.

The car has a small dent in the bonnet as if it was dropped with something like a bolt or screwdriver still sitting on the rocker cover.

Even more annoyingly, the drivers side front lip was broken off, or should I say a 4 inch long chunk of it grr

Luckily I have a set of LE lips in the attic. I'm currently priming one of them and I'll hopefully start spraying it black tomorow evening. I've never tried spraying something like this before, but sure if I make a pig of it, I've only wasted a can of paint!
