So they'll probaly just bang on about the red key for 5 minutes, or the £1200 engine out for cambelt changes? Dont worry i will be putting them right on a few misconceptions re coupe maintenance

See if paul or rog will allow you to print out a service price list, which you can handily leave at the top of the service history file

Ah Solas = Derek = Achiles. Nice to know. We had a great time there at Castle Beaufort. Nice to see you still have the Coupe - and actually (very) active visitor! Even more probably the 'greyest' member on the Forum, not? Are you still doing Euro-trips with the Coupe? Actually - I went back to Beaufort just a week or 2-3 ago. Good luck with the filming!

Right, guys and gals, thats me back from filming. Are you sitting comfortably them i'll begin. Decided to go over to Manchester last night as i didn't fancy a 0530 start,(it's an age thing Ailsa and me arrived at the Ramada hotel in Salford Quays about 2100, had a few drinks and off to beddy-byes. We were staying about 5 mins' drive from the studio. Arrived at the studio at 9am as requsted to be met by the Director, Phil Hawkins, and the presenter, Jonny Smith, both top guys. We were the first car to be done (the other cars were a VW Corrado, an MR2 and a Jag), it took a couple of hours for them to set up the lighting etc. Then the filming and dialogue started(I took quite a few piccies so if someone would like to host them for me i can email them. The idea behind the filming was finding the best 'cheapskate alternative' - our was the alternative to a Ferrari. Didn't like that phrase. I know everyone will be interested in the dialogue, but, unfortunately, the script was already written and i did not have much opportunity to add in what i and everyone else would like to say, i did, however, manage to change the misconception that you have to remove the engine to change the cambelt, i also gave Jonny a copy of various service price lists. You will know doubt be disappointed with the content when it appears on the telly, but as Jonny was saying, he would love to have a 10min slot to discuss the merits of one paticular car but the TV company will just not sanction this idea. I do not know what the finished article will be as the script only covered a few points, e.g. "when buying a used 20vt ask if the cambelt has been changed in the last 36000 miles".? e.g. (with bonnet open)"if you see or feel hot air escaping suspect a cracked manifold as it is difficult to get to when a car has air con as this one has". As i said, don't be too disappointed over the content as i am assured that they will also be singing the car's praises as well. All in all, it was a very interesting experience and i was amazed at what the lighting guys did with the set, it was very eerie driving on to the set as you couldn't tell where the floor joined the walls as everything was white, to you climbing guys it was like driving in a white-out.
