A screamer pipe is just the wastegate venting to atmosphere. It's not road legal however to do this you would need a tubular manifold with ex WG or split your downpipe at the internal WG.

Noone has made a divorced downpipe for a coop as far as i know.
I personally think externally wastegated cars with huge turbos and screamer pipes sound pretty damn evil.
I am however a lil bit suspect about what a standard coop turbo with a divorced downpipe would sound.

Still fair play to you for wanting to try, there'll probably be a few people wanting one!

it sounds about the same as all cars with screamer..
depends on the size of the pipe ( screamer pipe )

I have mitsu turbo with internal gate, but with screamer pipe.
tested to given around 10-15whp more, than one without screamer.
but those horses are with +370hp cars...
mine is still in progress..
I have 3" dp and then, 2" screamer pipe ..

My 1992 911turbo had a separate pipe from the wastegate as standard. I had it modified to remove the mini cat, and the baffle, and yes it did scream - beautiful!

I have had one on my car for over two years now on an external wastegate. It does sound fantastic and it gets louder (obviously) the closer you get to the redline and I guarantee any car with one fitted will turn heads as it isn't a sound you usually hear on the road.

Easy, so where can one get a screamer for the 20vt, and what needs doing to fit it?

You need a tubular manifold with an external wastegate fitment,an external wastegate itself and then the screamer pipe bolts/clamps onto that.

You can weld the internal wastegate flap on your turbo shut to get away with not having to buy a new turbo.

Thats the cheapo way around it.

not recommended really though.

If you are going to do,then do it right 1st time.
