The guy was an fccuk moron!

He pulled it in (He had to get it from some storage place) looked fine. Then i noticed it had a big cut out above the exhaust (As if the exhaust had been pushed up into the car then back down)

Then i asked if i could take it for a drive, his reply to this was "Well, are you thinking of buying it now?" I said "Well, i'm just looking and comparing a few of these cars at the moment as mines had a few problems" his reponse to that was "Well, when you want to buy you can test drive it"

Hmm what a prat? So, i then had a look at the oil pressure and it was on 1.5 bar (And like i said it had been driven for a while and was idling) so i commented about that not being right.

Then he got really p*ssey with me and said when you rev it, it goes up to 3 bar. So, i asked what bar it was on while drive and he "couldnt comment"

So, i then asked about the cambelt? He had no idea.. Service history? Again he had no idea.. even though the car had only one owner... apparently.

So, in the end i got annoyed with his attitude and decided to walk away! No wonder its been for sale for ages! Good luck to him selling it!!

He must off been hiding something!


On the plus side i've just managed to start my car! hopefully i've almost got the problem fixed!

Sounds like the conversation I had when I bought my Coupe, but I still bought it, because it was cheap at the time and had planned on spending on it if I bought a cheap one

My Coupes seller had a nicer attitude though, mainly because he'd been drinking vodka before I arrived

Theresa, your right! I was just talking to my friend Callum about it and if the seller was alot nicer and more genuine i would of been willing to buy it and look into the minor problems if it came to it!

But it was his bad attitude and having no idea about history, cambelt and the fact that i couldnt TEST drive it... put me right off!

Sounds like you did the right thing walking away. The car was obviously a dog and he was trying to hide it.

Its touch and go! The car started a couple of hours ago (After charging the battery) and a nice guy is coming round within the hour to give me the verdict!

Hopefully its not to bad! and it can be sorted by the time me and DanDan get back from Scotland!

I'm still a little nervous about it though now! Unfortunally i've lost abit of faith in it untill its 100% sorted

me too! Basically i will probably be taking MattyB too see Vicksters car on Saturday to buy it as he has no car and im his only way of getting there. Me and MattyB and whoever else can come along are going on a 4 day road trip of Scotland from Monday so he needs a car ASAP. Vickster can come too if she wants in her FOCUS
