Put an image online. Go to the the page with the relevant image on it. Copy the URL.

Then click the 'My stuff' menu item found on any page and click 'Profile'. Look for the Signature box, and enter your desired information, including any images/markup as below.

You are missing [image] at the start and end of your url

hmmm... just tried that from photobucket with the following results -
On my profile the pic is the right size but i read i have to many characters?
or the opposite when i reduce the amount of characters and get a gient size pic instead
I know the dims i need and i tried to edit the pic on photobucket but cannot seem to get it right
Any more help for a numpty would be great!!

Don't edit it on photobucket. Download it to your computer. Download irfan view and use that to edit it.

Reload it back up to a server that does not use an excessive number of characters in the url (I don't use photobucket and don't know if this is a common problem with it).
