i have seen on the net you can get hub adaptors, think they are by H&R, about £120 per pair i think and will convert your 4x98 to 5x98, basically just hubcentric spacers with a different stud pattern

I don't really want to go from 4 to 5 studs using adapters, wouldn't mind adapters for different PCD with the same number of studs but the holes are a little close together for my liking on the 4 to 5 stud adapters.
I know Johns and Redd both had Alfa 5x98 hubs on their cars and was wondering how much work was involved.

You need the GTV front hubs which are pretty cheap. GTV front and rear discs. Then you need the rear bearing that needs to be machined for the coupe - it is not the GTV one and I only ever figured out which one by re-ordering using the code on my rear hubs (But I think I know a man that has that info). The rear hubs are quite expensive.
If I was doing it now I would change to GTA front discs and Ferrari calipers at the same time as you have to change discs anyway.
You can not do a stud conversion to the most common stud patterns - such as 5x100 because the studs overlap too much. I think 5x114.3 is possible (giving you Jap hubs) but the problem with that approach is you will need ET50+ alloys so only porsche pattern is suitable at that sort of offset
