Anyone get these: "What is it?" "Its a Fiat Coupe" "A Fiat coupe what?" "Its a Fiat Coupe" "Yes but what type? "Turbo 16v" "No,what's the model?" "It's just called a Fiat Coupe" "Never heard of them"
Or "Is it a kit car?"
or "They can't have sold many of those"
or "I'm suprised its running if its a Fiat, don't they rust really badly?"
Arghhhhh! Too many of these in the last few days.

Around my area I do be very surprised when someone actually has a baldies what it is! I'v also been told; "Oh that's nice, what is it?" -"it's a Fiat Coupe" "oh... right... Fiat... ah well" And that's it! At least pass comment Positive or Negative don't be a woos. I can say that it's far more common to get the Positive comments and a pleasant surprise reactions to it being Fiat and 11 years old - I like telling people that.

Quite a few years ago I rang a garage to see if they could rebuild my rear calipers (before I knew about the frozen handbrake problem). The conversion went something like:
Garage: 'Good morning, Garage X....' Me: 'Hi. I've got a Fiat Coupe..' Garage: INTERUPTING ME 'Oh that can't be helped' Me: 'Oh so you'd rather not work on it then...I'll take my business elsewhere' Grumbling apology from the garage chap HANG UP
And I've never even thought of going back there again.

Had a good one last night(from a farmer)when he asked me wether I had a classic car. I said, yes it's a modern classic - a Fiat Coupe.
"A FIAT!....they make tractors!!"
I wasn't sharp enough with my reply which should have been "Yes, and so do Lamborghini!"

Anyone get these: "What is it?" "Its a Fiat Coupe" "A Fiat coupe what?" "Its a Fiat Coupe" "Yes but what type? "Turbo 20v turbo" "No,what's the model?" "It's just called a Fiat Coupe" "Never heard of them"
I had this exact conversation with a Motorfactors last Thursday when I was ordering new rear shocks. The guy was genuinely surprised when he opened with big book of car makes & parts and said 'Oh no, wait a minute, you're right. There it is... Fiat Queue-pay 2.0 Huh, never came across that one before'

I was at a Fiat Garage in Colchester called D Salmons to buy some oil and the guy behind the counter who'd seen me park up said "That's an LE isn't it? Can't say we get many of those in here, looking good." So they're not all clueless People at work all call it "that fiat thing" though. You'll get good things and bad things said about this car, you dont get any comments with most cars. But the one that got a laugh from my girlfriend the other day was as we drove past this little boy walking along a wall was just "Woooooow"

The most common question I get is, "do you want to sell it?"
Just last week a guy rang on the doorbell of my neighbour upstairs and asked if he could buy it.

Arghhhhh! Too many of these in the last few days. i've had that, it still really bugs me why people hate Fiat's. i've had Fiat's for years and never really had a bad one where-as i've only had one Subaru and it was forever not starting and the garages were stumped. the first time i've ever had to call the recovery service the guy on the phone said to me "thats why it's called Fiat, fix it again tuesday" as if i wanted to here that when it's the first time i've ever had to call them for a Fiat in my life.

Next door thought it was an Alfa Romeo but she loves it! She always flashes me in her little Daihatsui when i see her round town! And the old guy who lives across from me has an old rare Toyota Celica convertible and he always gives me a wave too if he sees me Other than that people at work either like or dislike it like marmite! Though is annoying when they say "Get a sensible car like a Ford Focus?" Why would i want to do that? I'm young and have a good income and dont have a family! So, i'm happy with a sporty car

I once had a similar experience with a Fiat Main dealer - rolled up on their forecourt and walked into the parts department Nigel - "I need a set of wiper arm bushes for a Fiat Coupe please" Dealer - "Do you mean a Bravo Coupe?" Nigel - "No, a Fiat Coupe" Dealer - "Fiat never made a Coupe" Nigel - "What, apart from the gorgeous 60s/70s Dino Coupes, but more pertinently, that blue thing parked over there [points] on your forecourt" Dealer - "oh - we wondered what that was when you pulled up"

omg is like you are reading my mind. I've had the above conversation with co-workers, insurers, and others. I do find a lot of people are really negative about Fiats... I also get "Its an Alfa isn't it?" I'm like 'No' and they say "Oh its a Fiat"... I always say things like "at least its not a boring German box", that always helps, loads of people have practically inditikit Audios/VW's.

I've been asked: ''Is it a bird?'' ''Is it a plane?'' ''It's a Supercar! Right?''

Its amazing the car ignorance out there - I mean the Fiat coupe wasn't that rare either.
I also get those questions but I find it exasperating when mechanics don't even know what a Fiat coupe is. Its obvious some people just see cars as different coloured blobs moving about with people inside.
