hi guys i have a few touch up areas on my porto blue coupe and would like to know wheres best to source a small spray tin??? p.s anyone know the paint code??

fiat can get you a touch up pot/pen not sure on price tho

although it has to be said, you will NEVER touch up porto

it is an extremely difficult colour to match

and, the paint in the touch up pot/pen will most probably be different to the colour on your car

annoying i know!

thanks i can get the pen locally but spray tin is £12 and only need a little bit...

in my opinion, save your money, and get the whole panel done

when i bought my car it had a touch up pot with it, but the colour is no where near to the actual shade of the car!

if you get it, test it somewhere not noticeable like under the bonnet, and you will see what i mean!

porto is a pain, but still the BEST colour

unless your doing the whole car - you really need a specialist to 'match' the colour with a piece of kit called Spectrophotometer/Densitometer which in plain english colour matches what it sees not what it should be - a bit like in B&Q where they can make a color match to to a sample of fabric etc.

Doesn't matter what the colour is by now most will have faded by even a tad.

My advive - unless your a A1, then let spray monkey do the job - it will be cheaper in the long run.

On a porto it's actually 2 layers of silver, then blue on top, with crap loads of metallic flake in it, so it's never going to look good if you slap touch up all over it! It wont blend in properly like it would on a flat colour.

Get someone who's REALLY skilled to do it, like I did:

ok guys i hear you but for the record i have small typical stone chips for the touch up pen and the front inner arch on the side skirt side is where i only need to spray....
am not getting carried away spraying the whole car or a whole panel!!! i happen to know after buying a spray tin last year how far this will go as i used this on my old porto for the black lower trim all the way around the bottom of the body.. and the match wasnt too bad.. my original enquiry obviously wasnt explicit enough guys.
really wanted a small spray tin as opposed to the std £12 tin as i know there will be around 7/8 left after use!!

i used the spray cans from halfords to do the lower black bit on the front bumper and the headlights and the match was better than that of the pro who did my bodykit!!

all you need is your paint code and take it to any halfords and they can mix it into spray cans for £10.99 for 300ml
