Right, I have insured mine as modified because of the zender? kit on mine.

but i do have a question, if it left the factory like that, is it a modification? or should it be called original? Because as far as im aware. My kit is a factory fit and fiat original

the second question i have is internal modifications. Is a boost gauge or narrow band lambda gauge count as a modification?

another question, changing the color of the breaks, is this classed as a modification?

1. If it left the factory with a Zender kit it is NOT a modification. If it has been added afterwards then YES it is a mod.

2. Yes, as it was not a standard item when it left the factory and is an upgrade.

3. No - it is not an upgrade.

The way I had it explained a few years back, it has to be declared if it is an upgrade over the factory level... painted calipers don't count... unless they are gold leaf laugh

But AlanW would see a Zender kit as a downgrade laugh

As far as I know Sam, the Coupe never left the factory with a Zender kit on.

They were made by Zender for Fiat, but that's it I think.

I think they may have been an optional extra at dealers, but that means it's been added on after it left the factory.

Also, if had come out of the factory with the Zender on, it would be listed on Eper and it isn't.

thanks for the clarification Theresa, I think your probably right in the case. so its a dealer fitted option, which means it should be insured as such
