Hi all, been lurking in the background for a while now and as I have owned my coupe for a month now thought I would show my face. smile
It’s a 1997 20vt sprint blue, in need of a bit of tlc, bought it as a rolling project to keep me out of mischief.
So far have discovered the previous owner at some point has managed to rip the under tray off! So on the hunt for a good second-hand one plus the radiator lower brace/mounting bracket as this is twisted to buggery! Plus also looking at changing the radiator at the same time (it looks on its last legs) would it be worth changing anything else in the cooling system at the same time (thermostat, hose of death)?
thanks,

P.S. my oil is Spot on! laugh

I know that countrycruising (joe) has some of the newer type undertrays for sale. I wouldn't bother getting an old one, they are fairly fragile around the location points (well mine is after all the oil that has eaten it away).

Make sure you change the hose of death asap, the rest of the bits you should be able to get on the parts for sale section.

What about the belts and cooler pipes, are they in good nick?

I will not succumb to coupe paranoia! ………….runs out and checks water and oil again! laugh

Belts have another year or so before they are due (4 out of 5?) but will probably get them done before that. Oil cooler pipes look original and in ok ish condition and have been hammerited.
Are the later under trays made from a different material or are they just beefier/heaver?

Joe showed me one and to fit it you will need to cut off the tie down lug. They are better at protecting the pipes and look far stronger.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Good to have you aboard (even if you have bought one of the worst colours)... teacher

Only joking; sprinty blue is well loved on here!

Welcome! Sounds like you've already done lots of research into coupe ownership, in which case you will enjoy your coupe and it wont let you down!

Dont let the paranoia get the better of you - mine has been totally reliable for the 8+ years I've owned it!
