welcome to the forum! im not sure of the area up there so i cant suggest any were to get the damage done.
You may well be best of getting a good second hand bonnet, bumper and slam pannel. expect to pay around 200 quid for them but not nesserly in the color you want

any picks at all?

belts, make sure there is history of them being done, snap = effectively a complete rebuld or replacement block

Welcome smile

As said, check your oil and your belts. That should put you in a good situation.

Perhaps pop the car past a local specialist for them to have a look at her and give her the once over.

Welcome! You've certainly come to the right place!

Some good advice on here re. oil and belts

Hopefully when she's back in working order you'll be keeping her!

We will see insurance was a bit off a kick in the balls for me ..... was almost as high as my Focus ST225 and that was a 2007.....

I found another problem with the car sounds like the Fan bearings are going I get a wierd squeeling noise when I start it but it goes away after the engine warms up..... And the Breaks are PANTS .... they are very loose thin they need pulling apart new pads and change of fluid..

The squeal on startup is the alternator belt, most likely.

If you have a 20v/vt pay attention to the condition of the auxiliary belts; if they break they often take the cambelt with them.

If it's a 16 then you probably just need to adjust the tension in the belt.

Perhaps you could set your avatar so we know what you've got? 'My Stuff' at the top of the page, then either 'profile' or 'preferences' (I forget which!).
