OK, after (yet more) advice, Im after a central locking solution. I dont want it connected to the alarm, imob atal. Just a straight forward, lock , unlock system that is reliable ( with a decent looking fob too ).

Now, obviously the coupe has all the 'mechanics' for this, the existing bits just need connecting to a 'control' box, which then receives the lock/unlock signal from the fob. Is it this simple ?

Currently my alarm is disconnected, and to save complications, i'll keep it that way.

Can anyone recommend a system, cheapish, but not crap, thats easy to install (by the guys at L&M, not me!)

Much appreciated as always.......

I too am in a similar position. My Meta siren is thanfully silent but I use the fobs for the remote central locking.

I would rather replace with non meta fobs as the meta ones are ugly, only have the one button and have been discontinued.

I am after a 3 button remote, with buttons for lock, unlock and boot release.

For lock and unlock there is http://www.directcarparts.co.uk/buy-car-...ing-p-7946.html

However adding this and then this and I could have the whole shooting match. Just not keen on carbon effect fobs frown

Hmmm, the toad is the sort of thing i'm after, £70 seems a bit steep though.....is it a simple case of replacing the box under the drivers seat with this one, and running a sensor somewhere? (forgive me if i'm wrong, never done it before!!)

agree with you about the carbon fobs..... laugh

From whay I can gather you keep the existing box and just find the relevant wire for the lock/unlock and tap into it.

There are also some more of these on ebay, but again they look a bit cheap.

This is interesting..

I am in the same position as you John regarding the Meta alarm. Except I have two new fobs for my one.

I have been thinking about my options for an alarm etc. Something with boot opening/window closing etc etc.

Interesting to see what is out there.

I had a cobra central locking kit, I just connected it to the unlock/lock wires of the existing wiring.
