Hey Guys,
I have seen a coupe with an alloy wing spoiler and I thought it complimented the lines of the car, but I have found it hard to find a good one that will be the wright size (ideally no bigger then 1250mm).
Has anyone got one/had one/ or knows of a good place to got to get one for my little coop?!

Why having a styling section if the mention of changing somthing on the car makes some members upset?!
Personally i dont like spoilers on most cars, but as I said i have seen a coop with one on and personally I think it compliments the lines and adds that slight visible difference to set your coop apart from the rest, if you get the right one.
Please no more comments from people who dont like them, whats the point? Can someone who does or has one please answer my question?!

Your asking for thoughts, then getting upset when people give you them? every one has a different idea of what's nice, and what isnt. difference is a good thing... BUT if your asking for my thoughts here, any wing spoiler, bar something extremity suttle like the bmw one i have seen just messes up the design completely you have a very curvy body and sticking something with the dimensions of a picknick bench really upsets them lines. Each to there own and all that, but imop its a shocking mod for a coupe and one that will not win a lot of votes from most of the fccuk members

Thanks for your thoughts Sam. Those are useful thoughts and opinions and what i didnt appriciate was the sarcastic posts and emotions. I definatly do not want to ruin the beautiful lines and curves on my coupe and I think that perhaps the money could be better spent on improving my coop in another way. Im book in with roger at Poweritalia on Monday getting full service, engine health check, rear brakes sorted, and air con fixed so i think my next step will be stage one of the knowledge.
Thanks to all those guys with HELPFUL comments.

no problem Joe one of the best mods pound for pound is something as simple as a strut bar for the coupe which your budget should more than meet! well done for going to get the health check done, if only more owners were as diligent and forward thinking, not just what can i put the boost too

Heres one I found as a ruff guide at what Id be inclined towards; Spolier So if you've already found the one you like, what are you asking ? You don't need anybody else's permission to ruin subtly improve the classic lines of your coupe. It makes me wonder why Fiat didn't nail one on in the first place. There isn't a day that goes by that I've not longed for extra downforce. So I say follow your heart and do it. We need people on here who are prepared to stand up and finish the job that Chris Bangle failed to complete. The lasy ba&*^%$. So if I see you coming the other way, with your fog lights on, I'll be the first to give you a cheery wave

All the power to you for making your coupe special to you but may i sugest something a little more fitting to the coupe lines? http://cgi.ebay.de/BMW-E36-Heckspoiler-Spoilerlippe-Spoiler-Heck-Lippe-M3_W0QQitemZ130317057105QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutoteile_Zubeh%C3%B6r?hash=item1e57807c51&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 I think these look great on the coupe but in all fairness what I think is irelevant to your coupe

Hey Guys,

Has anyone got one/had one/ or knows of a good place to got to get one for my little coop?! Could people please stop giving the bloke grief and answer his questions CoupeChin, most people are giving you grief because a lot of spoilers don't really suit the Coupe and can ruin the look of it, especially the wing spoilers. I personally don't like the wing spoilers, but there are other spoilers that don't look too bad on a Coupe. If you go onto AutoDS website http://www.shop.autods.net/index.ph...p;zenid=37861534bd6ae0fd68a637affd0da1d5 there are a range of spoilers available for the Coupe, but I don't think he sells the wing type. Specialists such as Demon Tweeks may do the wing spoilers, although not sure on what sizes they have.

Hmm, I personally don't like spoilers or body kits and really don't like the Alloy high wing type .... ..but the Cada style spoilers can look ok. I bought a car with one!

Coupechim, another vote for no spoiler here, however some actual advice... If you absolutley decide you have to, dont go mad with the height, at most have it 2-3 cms above the boot, not several inches like the yellow coupe with graphics pictured on page 1 - No matter how many ripspeed stores he visits its not going to be a touring car. With the coupe a subtle approach works best, less is definitley more with this car. Have you thought about other options, such as the spoiler on paulw's car in his sig. pic above? Our resident bodykit manufacturer Mariusz runs a shop called auto DS which has many different options available, his work is top quality with testimonials from many forum members and he can supply painted to your car's colour as well. clicky - Link to Auto DS Another thought, for a similar price as one of those alloy spoilers you could buy an LE, or Zender kit from auto DS, which would (i know i'm going to get flamed for saying this...) 'improve' (IMO) the coupes lines in a more subtle way. Hope it helps (and takes your mind off of alloy spoilers )

Bit of a dilemma this, on one hand there is a desire to make your car stand out on the other is the fact that you risk ruining the cars looks.
Personally I would avoid a spoiler, unless it's been aerodynamically proven, when I had the Focus RS, Ford stated the small lip spoiler meant that the car needed 3BHP less at 100MPH, I am not convinced that it dramatically altered my enjoyment of the car.
I think the problem is that the Coupe has very nice lines, lets face it rather than having aged the design has actually got better with age. If you consider it was originally penned in 93 and compare it with cars of that era, you will see what I mean.
With only around 5000 Coupes on the road, I think you run the risk of "chavvying" a beautiful looking car. Lets face it how many people will look at your car and ask "what on earth is that doing on there?"
But at the end of the day it's your choice and good luck with whatever you decide.
Happy
